“The Brown Bear is the kind of place that'll take a good day and make it better.I was just passing through and decided to stop in for a quick lunch at the bar and was glad I did.The bartender/server made me feel welcome from the get-go, helped me with my order and even changed the channel on the TV over the bar so I could watch the Tigers.I ordered the Notorious Bear Burger and the server asked if I wanted the Cub (½ pound of meat!) or the full Bear Burger (1 whole pound of meat!!!). I reluctantly decided to b behave myself and ordered the Cub... and was glad I did because it was more than enough for me!The burger was delicious, the meat was cooked to order and the waffle fries were fresh and tasty. Plus, there are free refills on stuff drinks. In short, the service was impeccable, the prices very reasonable (I tipped 100% because the cost was so low) and the vibe was good.“
“Delicious food! I got the omelette with chorizo and it was a very large portion paired with hash browns that were well portioned as well. Super tasty with a little something for everyone on the menu. Small restaurant with only one bathroom and the "fresh fruit" was definitely not fresh (but still good) are the only things that I could possibly critique.“

“Wow! The Gull is back! I almost hate to post this in fear we will have a wait if word gets out. Breakfast was perfect, food came out hot and exactly how we asked (pancake with raspberry jam was to die for), bacon and hash browns were crispy as we requested, and sourdough toast was like a dessert. Service with a smile, which is so hard to come by these days. Ask for Holly, she’s AMAZING!! Bloody Mary’s paired perfectly with the view of Pentwater Lake and the marina! Don’t pass by, come in and give it a try. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 9a-8p Thursday, Friday, Sat, Sun for off season through Dec.“

“The pink elephant accommodated a large family group that straggled in. We laughed and participated with the staff and then made sure that the regular Sunday morning patrons got their seats and meals in a timely fashion. The potato skins scramble was suburb! Great food and community.“

“My visit to the Silver Lake Chicken Shack was a casual and family-friendly experience that left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the chicken they serve here is undeniably great, and they offer wine and beer to accompany your meal. But to note, not that big of a selection. If you're traveling with kids, this place is kid-friendly, and they'll likely enjoy the tasty chicken and relaxed atmosphere. However, it's essential to set the right expectations. While the food is a highlight, don't expect a any dining experience. The ambiance is basic, with cheap seating and paper plates. In summary, if you're in the mood for delicious chicken and a cold beer in a relaxed, family-friendly environment, the Silver Lake Chicken Shack is worth a visit. Just remember to appreciate it for what it is: a no-nonsense spot that's all about the tasty poultry, and not about the fancy setup or a normal dining experience.I also noticed that the placed seemed to have the setup for live music, which could add to the overall experience. However, it's worth noting that there was no live music during my visit.Conidering that there were not much choices around, I would recommend that spot!“

“Fun, sweet hosts and great wings! They showed us where to go for great things like climbing the dunes safely instead of slogging up heart attack hill!!And apparently there's a creamery in New Era where you can get fresh creamy cheese curds and milk right out of the cows almost.“

“Great place to get some tacos. The place was very authentic. The service was very good and super fast. There was literally like 5 orders in front of mine and I didn't wait more than 5 minutes for it.Went on the weekend they only had tacos, burritos, tamales, and corn on the cob for Mexicos independence day so I wasn't able to savor any other food but those. The tamales were decent, more the red sauce ones but they were on the small side. The tacos were nor small or big but had a decent amount of meat on them. I ordered the asada ones and I prefer my meat a little more crisp up but they were tasty nonetheless. The corn on the cob was really great. This place is within the Mexican store that sells imported good from Mexico. All of this right in the little downtown of Hart, MI next to a beautiful lake.“

“We stopped in for a later snack as this was one of the only placed to get food at that time (9pm on a Saturday night). They serve until 10:30pm. We had the spicey cheese curds (which were actually quite spicey), the taco platter (the beans were cold, but the rest was good), and a spinach walnut salad. Everything was generally good, and the service was great. It was certainly MUCH cleaner than the Brown Bear across the street, which we had for lunch earlier in the day.“
