“On 12/27/22 my husband and I hosted a dinner for 18 to celebrate the marriage of my daughter and fiance. Everything was superb. Our server, Cindy, did a remarkable job. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The food was excellent, as well as the Sambucca.“

Only open for breakfast and lunch and nearly always a line to get in. Locals love the place tucked in behind a drug store.
Food is great and you get a lot which makes the slightly higher prices easier when you have enough for a second meal later.
Still a regular spot a year later for the reasons above.“

At one point, he asked me if the young man with us was my son or my daughter’s boyfriend. When I told him he was her boyfriend, Manuel went out of his way to tell me how much he respected the way I treated him and told me I was a great dad. It was such an unexpected and genuine compliment, and it honestly meant a lot to me. Manuel was friendly, personable, and made us feel very welcome. “I came in and placed a order for dinner, while I was in there the two mangers on shift were dealing with a difficult customer, they remade the pizza and gave them free pizza coupons and they kept yelling at them and swearing and they were so nice in return to her. They were very patient and handled the situation beautifully i was very happy to see that and my food was awesome!“

“My family has been going to Hong Kong Cafe since it opened. What started as just a place to grab some food has turned into a family tradition. Karen and the rest of the staff at Hong Kong Cafe have been a part of nearly all of our family celebrations for the last 20 plus years. Even though my sister and I have moved out of state, no visit home to Shelby township would be complete without a meal at Hong Kong Cafe. Hong Kong Cafe did an excellent job catering our mother's funeral luncheon for over 150 people, as well as an amazing job hosting my father's rehearsal dinner years later.“

From the moment you walk through the door, you’re welcomed by the incredible aroma of freshly baked bagels and hot coffee. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect whether you’re stopping in for a quick breakfast before work or sitting down to enjoy a relaxing morning meal.

The bagels are absolutely outstanding—fresh, soft on the inside, perfectly chewy, and baked with just the right amount of flavor. It’s clear that quality is a priority here. They have an excellent variety of bagels and cream cheese flavors, so there’s always something new to try. Their breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal as well. Every ingredient tastes fresh, portions are generous, and everything is made with care. Whether you’re craving something simple or a loaded breakfast sandwich, you really can’t go wrong.

The coffee is consistently fresh and pairs perfectly with the food. It’s exactly what you want to start your day, and it’s obvious they don’t cut corners when it comes to quality. “Me and my best friend went to celebrate and have a little galentines dinner and it was perfect. It was Super Bowl night so the restaurant was almost empty and we got to stay there a while just chatting and enjoying their delicious food. We got the famous curly fries, pasta, pizza and their also famous pink cake. We enjoyed it all! “My husband and I have been enjoying the food at Chula Maria (Taco Loco) since it opened. Last night they had a new item to sample- Pollo a la Naranja-Orange Chicken. It’s was amazing. I actually ordered it for my dinner. It was served with Mexican rice including an assortment of vegetables. I hope it becomes a regular menu item. The Mariachi duo was very entertaining and really adds to the authentic atmosphere. Our server was excellent and kept our glasses full. The margaritas are the best around.“

“First time trying Detroit style pizza and we knew we wanted to try Buddy’s. We weren’t totally sure what to order, but luckily Dejuan our server was incredible! He gave us wonderful recommendations, great service , and he was just fun! We had a delicious meal and a great time. We had 2 different kinds of pizza and the famous antipasto salad and it was all so good! So much so that we are going back tomorrow for more! And the manager Rondah stopped by our table to make sure everything was great and we let her know how happy we were with our entire experience, a true testament to what a great job she is doing running everything! We also loved that this is the original location on Conant St. and has a cool mural outside and such a great ambiance inside! If you are in Detroit this is the place to be!“

“Most all the pasta is homemade. Great eggplant, special appetizer, calamari, grilled octopus. All wonderful ministroni soup, well done. Lamb chops and special pasta with shrimp outstanding. Server was not trained in wine service. Ordered a nice bottle of wine was not offered a taste and over forward each glass. New telepizza for dessert, was just right for the three of us.“

“I have ALWAYS loved Kerbys. Even before I started working here. Now I manage the Waterford location, I love the friendly atmosphere. The whole crew (for all of the locations) are some of the best people I have brought into my life. Our customers are like are family! What I love the most is that Kerbys is a family owned company. “idk why this place gets a bad wrap but this is the BEST Sesame Chicken I've had compared to ALL of the other Chinese restaurants in the entire metro area. The sauce is actually spot on with honey vinegar and it has that crushed red pepper heat, but it's not too hot. Not like that red-ketchup garbage other places put on it. Their sauce seems more real and authentic. They put broccoli in it, it's not just all meat with no veggies. Also, be sure to upgrade to the chicken fried rice! They use white meat that's not breaded as a standard, it's not so dark that it's black rice over-loaded with soy sauce, there's a nice balance there. Also they have good veggies in their rice as well like some cubed carrots, onions & peas along with sprouts. It's not like just rice and chicken. You need that variety! I will drive out of my way to come to this place EVERY time!“
