Wonderful original bar from the 20's, great decor, friendly staff, but best of all is the Four Piece Chicken in the Rough. My all time, all universe, favorite chicken, better than any other I have ever eaten, whether from a chain, diner, or upscale restaurant. Their soups are great, chicken gizzards are very good I'm told (I can't bring myself to eat organs), ribs are highly recommended, and locally caught pickerel is delish.
This place has the best food. My mother is very picky whether it’s hot, greasy and this place is the best. If my mother wants to go back that means a lot to the restaurant for my mother. So if anyone is reading these reviews, go there! You won’t be disappointed by any means.
I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my friends got the chicken tender basket, and the half traditional chicken. The chicken is juicy and cooked perfectly. The breading is flavorful and crispy. I really liked the home cooked fries. Service was quick and attentive.
