AZO Venue, Lounge & Grill is a restaurant that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a mix of casual comfort and character. Guests appreciate its farm-to-table approach, evident in the fresh and delicious food served. The menu features a variety of options, including Fried Chicken, strip steak, Shrimp Gumbo, BBQ chicken, and St Louis fish catfish fillets, which is highly recommended for its flavor and is so popular that some diners mention taking their shoes off to enjoy it. The restaurant also provides gluten-free and vegan choices, and appetizers like onion rings are homemade, crunchy, and flavorful.
The venue has appealing outdoor seating with a firepit and Adirondack chairs, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy views of the Kalamazoo Airport runways. Inside, the ambiance maintains a supper club vibe with memorabilia and a cozy atmosphere. Service is generally friendly and attentive, especially during less busy times, and the place often features live music, enhancing the experience.
Drinks are well-prepared, with favorites like Expresso Martini and mules, and the bourbon bread pudding is a popular dessert alternative to the unavailable creme brulee. Although there have been some issues with tabs and overcharging, and occasional complaints about liquor taste, these do not overshadow the overall positive experience. With reasonable prices, generous portions, and a charming setting, AZO Venue, Lounge & Grill is seen as a place with great potential and a spot worth visiting for good food, drinks, and relaxing moments.
