“It feels like an old school bar (because it is) but don't get the wrong idea - Lisa, Analyse, and the staff put a lot of care and love into what they do. Despite the old school look, they keep the beer lines and kitchen/bar clean and make good bar food. They also have live music and events from time to time, along with three pool tables. Prices are extremely reasonable, too.“

“The consistency between stores - Grand Rapids and Portage- it’s the fact that our daughter’s food allergies are such a non-issue when ordering! For us- that means so much that your servers and entire team get it and are totally informed!! We went to Portage today but we have dined at the GR store too and same level of understanding and great service. The portions were great, and our server was absolutely AMAZING!! “We have eaten here twice now (once carry-out, once dine-in). The food was great both times, and when we dined in the service was friendly and prompt. (I did not pick up the carry-out order, so I don't know about service that time. My bet is that they were just as friendly and quick.) Definitely will be back, definitely recommend.“

“Pups are welcome at this pub, score! This is just a stunning perch overlooking the Meadow Run Dog Park, esp. the pond area, and it’s literal heaven. Often times they have live music and/or food trucks on site, the dogs are beyond well taken care of here, and the staff also is so, so kind to guests. “Great experience with my husband. On a whim decided to try somewhere new and we are so glad we did! Amazing service first off, the bartender working was so nice & kind and had noticeable hospitality. The food, secondly, was amazing as well. We shared the boomin’ shrimp which was really tasty! My husband had the ribeye on special for restaurant week and I had the sweet and spicy burger and we both really enjoyed our meals! We will 100% be back. “Honestly...my experience here had nothing 2 do with food... shooting pool which is fun...but I had the pleasure of meeting the owner & got a complete rundown on him & the story behind Lamplighter...such an awesome guy...stop by & offer 2 help him finish his dream of finishing the Lamplighter... he's also 80...has a tendency 2 fall..but keep on working on the Lamplighter ??...I had the pleasure of helping him & learning the history behind the Lamplighter from the beginning 2 now...????“

The manager was so helpful -- he walked by and noticed the pizza was overcooked/burnt and offered to get him a new one. We really appreciated that. Our server was also great! “Love Harveys, just wish the food portions were a little better for the price. I got the White Cheddar Cheese Curds for $8 and I think it came with ~8 small little breaded curds. That is insane. I would've been happier with 30 breaded bits of cheese sticks, lol.“
