I don't know who trains the ones that work at the take out counter, but there needs to be more!!!! Picked up an order and there was NO thank you, have a good night, or no smile!!! I didnt even know if the receipt was mine, she sort of just tossed it onto the box. Good old customer service is your first in with the community!!!“

“If you get the opportunity to be served by Logan and Jade downstairs, do not miss it under any circumstance. I haven’t been to downtown in a long time (I’m a country hick), and these two treated my group like we were the only people in the restaurant. As far as those two were concerned, we were royalty. While they were “just doing their jobs,” they were amazing. If the rest of the staff is half as good as these two, do not hesitate to stop in. We could not have dreamed of better service. I just hope we tipped enough for how they treated us.“

“This was my first time experiencing The Rooster’s Call on Gull Road and it was nothing short of amazing in every way. I enjoyed the Western omelette and it was evident that fresh ingredients were used. It was the BEST omelette I have ever eaten in a restaurant. My server, Mady, was very attentive and friendly with me and all she interacted with. And finally, it has a very open, laid-back atmosphere while still maintaining professionalism. It is clear many people have become regulars because of their caring environment. I will be back! 👍🏻😃“

“Food is delicious, takeout orders frequently wrong. This is the best food in Kalamazoo, but they’ve gotten my takeout order wrong five times in just 2025. This is nothing new for this place as I’ve been coming since 2013 and I’ve had so many mix ups. The workers are polite and friendly, and everything is always delicious. Would recommend you eat in person.“

“Best fast style Chinese I’ve tried in Kzoo, Kung Pao chicken was good, fresh veggies and not overcooked.

The fried rice really stood out and had more of a Thai or Japanese hibachi style, just wish they filled the other open space with more rice in the combo.

It was that good that I’ll be eating there again today.

“I really like Bell's food, but hate that you have to find your own table and there are no reservations. We usually come here for a concert, and like to arrive early for dinner but it's always so stupidly frustrating to have to walk around the dining area looking for a table.“

“I was so excited to find your menu online. I am always in the neighborhood and craving sushi, however I can’t eat anything with shellfish and I don’t eat anything rawr. So that makes things limited for me, however I found they had my favorite roll the Diablo roll! I was thrilled, went and picked it up and it was beautiful, it was so delicious. “We order from here a lot, but not after tonight. Most of the order was messed up and not cooked fully. Then, something we regularly ordered was half the size it was two days ago yet, the full price. We compared the containers because visually it was that obvious. Called and talked to the manager and got an apology, but no offer to correct the order or refund what they left out and what was not fully cooked. Would not recommend nor will be back!“

“I’ve been here more times than I can count! My college friends and I discovered this place our freshman year and it was a favorite spot. The staff is very friendly and the food is incredible. I bring everyone I know when I can. My favorite is the spicy pork dish because it’s a large portion and comes with side dishes. The owner once noticed I got a haircut and has always been so sweet. Highly recommend!“

“We had Papa’s Italian Sausage cater our wedding. It’s the absolutely delicious, we had lasagna, Alfredo, caprese salad, breadsticks, meatballs and the sausage with peppers and onion. Everything was hot, soooo flavorful and filling. You can tell that Carl puts his heart and soul into making his food. The catering was so easy, he came in and set up in a blink of an eye. It was so so seamless. I highly recommend to everyone. Thank you, Carl. It was perfect!“

“One of my favorite American food restaurant. The selection is great something for any of us. Homemade bread and pastries top notch. Favorite ruebarb pie hands down. My favorite are the breakfast selections. The staff have always been helpful. No complaints. We drive 40 minutes to get there although there are restaurants within five minutes from our house. I say yes go. I saw a comment about the clientele being unfriendly. That's a development that has increased since 2016 and not limited to the Grove Cafe. Love this restaurant.“

Since the restaurant business isn't advertised, they maybe feed total of 5-20 people a night , rarely that it's 20.A new chef took over in April 2025, due to very little business the menu is small but very delicious. The chef is a culinarian of 28 years and also runs the banquets. Phenomenal food that I've experienced.“
