I played in the empty stage area on the other side of the bar area.... Has it changed in 60 years? “Biergarten is one of our favorite local places! This year they saved my fiancé’s 30th birthday when another local bar could no longer accommodate us last minute. I called the day before in a panic and the owner called her workers to come in a little early, helped me coordinate everything with food, and just went above and beyond to make sure everything was great. Super nice and polite, she was very understanding when I told her about the guy who took my drink, lol. I had a fun time playing chess, talking shit, I wish that there was food, this is the only thing, but even without food, the bar was fantastic, I don't know, maybe there was food and I was too drunk, I don't know. Fun bar, great time. If you're going to come here, don't be too serious.. You will have a fun time, I promise you. Everyone there is polite. But seriously, if you come to this bar, seriously, just give Star your money and she will give you a great drink. She's also super nice so no need to be uptight at this bar, you'll be okay! This bar, great place, there's a party that's going to be at this bar tomorrow, if you're going to come to this bar, seriously, just go to Star, she'll give you a good drink seriously.. I'm definitely coming back to this bar!!! There's not enough good things to say about it, but this is a good place to party, tomorrow!!! Very good!! Thanks!!! “Anybody reading this, my mamaw was the barmaid there beginning in the 60s. Annie Ruth Ladd. They also lived above the bar for some time. My mother told me that she vividly remembers looking out the window and seeing the National guard going down Jefferson into Detroit. At that time, she was 9 years old. My mother grew up to work in the bar. Her name is Roseann or Rosie. I spent lots of my youth there, playing quarter machines. Rosie Also worked Square Deal. Y'all probably knew my papaw too his name was Jim Ray Boatwright and he was known in River Rouge as being one of the Town drunks lol God rest his soulCan't wait to stop in and reminisce!Also, if anybody knew my family or can share stories, please let me know. I love the beautiful waterfront view here at the point where the Detroit River opens into Lake Erie. This club is connected to an island that is connected to an island that is connected to an island. “Been coming here since I was 21 with a 10yeqr gap in my mid 20’s to mid 30’s. Even when they’re packed we have good service. TV’s everywhere so every seat has a good view of whatever game is on. And they have touch tones so you control the music when there isn’t a game. Pleasant and attentive staff. Great beer selection and it’s always fresh. Just wish there were a few more healthy food selections. Even so everything is tasty. Chili is definitely some of the best restaurant chili available and in the fall they have rotating soups.“

“A lot of free surrounding convenient parking. This place reminds me of a smaller St. Andrews Hall. The security was on point. The prices weren't too crazy at the bar. I love that they give you ice water instead of purified water in a bottle. You can get pretty close up to the stage, and I loved that they had a handicap area to sit in as my sciatica was acting up. Will most definitely be back.“
