Restaurantji unveils Saint Joseph's must-visit Mexican dining spots.
“Have been here multiple times on vacation. This time my wife got steak, al pastor, and carnitas tacos. I got guisado pork and chicken tinga tacos. All were great. Meat had lots of flavor and salsas were great. Only suggestion is to double up the corn tortillas as ours were falling apart by the end of the taco. Great service and will continue to come back.“
“My whole family loves the food there. I hate when people says something is authentic. If you arent from the countries that make the food, you don't know if it's authentic or not, so I won't say that, but I will say the food is delicious and the service is terrific. You get your food super fast and it's always fresh. My wife also loves the margaritas.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a ramp up to the front door.“
“Food: 4/5 (mouthwatering meals!)Service: 5/5 (very kind and accommodating)Atmosphere: 3/5 (okay vibe)I experienced El Sol Azteca today, as my tastebuds craved Mexican food. Very delicious spot in Saint Joseph, Michigan. I had the whole restaurant to myself, so I sat and myself at home. Just to note, there's an 18% dine in tip added to your bill if you decide to eat at the restaurant. But I had a lovely experience. The food was succulent! My plate came out hot and straight from the flattop or grill. I had my favorite Mexican dish in the world, Birrias! The shell was crunchy and flavorful, the dip was dip-tastic, and I enjoyed every piece of meat that fell on my plate. I also had the flavorful Mexican corn and tried the fabulous nachos! I appreciated the complimentary chips and salsa, but if I'm honest, the rice and beans that came with the birrias platter fell flat. The service was appreciated and great! We were greeted with love, and the menu was explained great! The server was amazing and made sure we were comfortable. The atmosphere was a little dark and flat. However, there appears to be some action going on at night at this restaurant, as there was a DJ Booth, Barbie picture setup, sombrero hats, and more to enjoy! I believe the time I came in was not a hot time slot. All in all, there were some really GOOD stuff at El Sol Azteca and some things that could be better. I'm grateful for this lovely restaurant!Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options on the menu.Kid-friendliness: There's a kid-friendly full menu! Kids eat for $3.99 on some days! My son's quote about his meal, "This is one of the best meals I ever had."Parking: There was plenty of parking when I went. However, the free parking lot is small and awkward to park.Wheelchair accessibility: There's plenty of room for wheelchair accessibility.“
“Coming from Arizona, I was worried I wouldn't find good Mexican food. I was pleasantly surprised to find good Mexican food in Michigan. It's not as authentic, but it is definitely delicious. The restaurant is clean, and the servers are very courteous as I make special requests.“
“First review I’ve written in google and For good reason. This was the best breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere in my life! I had the Greek skillet, with a side of French toast. Wife had biscuits and gravy. Those were delicious as well. 11/10 definitely recommend!“
