Grew up in this town and remember when you had to get there early or wait in line. It’s so sad to see the Antlers like this. The menu is sad, very little food options especially entrees. They used to have steaks, seafood options and other food items. I’d hate to see this long established restaurant end up closing its doors but it’s inevitable if they don’t course correct and improve their menu and offer more options.

Based on the reviews, The Antlers Restaurant offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with plenty to look at, including walls packed full of taxidermy animals, most of which are real. The old building has creaky floors and an old lodge feel. The service is outstanding, with staff described as wonderful, and the food feels like down home cooking. Specific meals mentioned include the Onion Rings, which were good, and a Whitefish rice bowl special that was dry and burnt tasting, with fries tasting like burnt oil and mushy rice and veggies. A Burger was dry and lifeless. However, other reviews praise the excellent food, calling it absolute perfection and yum. Prices and portions are on par, though it can be expensive—two drinks and a burger with a side was $40 before tip. There is a bonus room for ice cream. Come on your birthday and they’ll hoot some bells and whistles. Food quality needs an upgrade according to some, but the nostalgia factor is nice for those who hadn't been there in 40 years.
