“I had 5 broken teeth and 2 large abscesses and couldn't eat much of anything but was starving. I was looking for something soft to gum. Thinking tamales or beans and cheese. Of the options the flour tortilla beef birria seemed to be the best fit. I ordered those, a side of beans and, a side of consomme. Was amazing. Just on the edge of what I can tolerate heat wise (I am a wimp). Great taste. I used the consomme to make birria ramen for a later meal. (Just beef ramen, 2 sticks string cheese, and the consomme). It was also great, very satisfying.“

“Delicious and flavorful food. Friendly staff. Mexican style/street tacos flare. Positive energy vibe, plenty of seating available. I had the California burrito and asked to add cilantro and had no issues, in fact the person taking the order loaded me up with additional toppings and sauces that the burrito was filling enough for 2 meals. Also had the trio sampler (guacamole, cheese, salsa) with chips. Very filling. Great flavor profile. Will definitely be adding this to my list to return again.“

“Had carry out for the first time since the new ownership. Sadly, a little disappointed. I ordered the the Zip Sauce Alfredo with chicken .It was really good! However, it didn't have much chicken in it at all the the garlic bread that it came with was soggy. My wife got the "Double Fajitas" with steak and chicken. The steak was pretty bland and there was barely enough meat for 3 small fajitas. My oldest daughter got the Enchilada Dinner and really enjoyed it. Great flavor! My Youngest Daughter got pancakes and bacon. Unfortunately, they bacon was a bit undercooked and rubbery and they forgot the syrup. We love to support local business and We have gone to the restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food and service. So I am hoping this is just some of the early "bumps and bruises".“

“Hidden gem—almost impossible to see the name of this little restaurant, so it’s easy to miss! But what a fun surprise when you do find it. Great drinks—I tried the Hibiscus Margarita, my hubby had the classic. Very tasty! The food had great authentic flavor and was very reasonably priced for Birmingham. I had the shrimp taco and didn’t love how thick the soft shell was, but the flavor was delicious and the sauce with the shrimp was yummy. My hubby and daughter loved their dishes. He got a steak special and she got the Biria dish.
The coconut cake and churro cheese cake dessert were fabulous and worth the calories!
Service was great, friendly and helpful!

“I've been going here with a group of friends for a several years now and it's become a tradition that I would never want to quit! The food is delicious and the staff is AMAZING (shout out to Miguel, Raul, Seira, Angelica, Crystal and anyone else I've missed --- LOVE you all!) Some of my go-to faves: shrimp tacos, anything with beef cheek (quesadillas, tacos, etc.), taco salad, fajitas (the meal that ends up being 2-3) and anything from the bar :D I'd also like to take a moment to really commend the staff & owners: ever since COVID started, it's been extremely tough for most every restaurant to obtain/keep their staff. I know there may be times Alchile can get really busy (as there are a lot of us that go regularly) and there may be times you may have to wait longer than you'd like to get a seat (or your food/drink) but know that the staff works really hard & truly cares about each customer and you will NOT be disappointed! They are well worth the wait“

“Ordered food. Tripe taco was good well seasoned. I wanted the tripe crispy but Google translate said to put in a hard shell lol still really good. Horchata fresh, really good. Ordered a half al pastor half asada tortas. The asada is a lil salty but still delicious. The al pastor however did taste a lil old, slight spoil tang iykyk. 4 star cause it was probably an off day but who knows.“

“Our waitress was very helpful she brought over out breakfast of Chorizo con Juevos (awesome)and Eggs not your typical greasy chorizo it was the most flavorful and no grease residue or aftertaste that usually stays with you all day. Eggs Rachancheros / green sauce that were cooked perfect. As for the atmosphere it's a Bar , Mexican rough apparently the fights are mostly in the men's bathroom.. beat up..🤠 I will return for a different dish to try out next time. Enjoy!“

Stopped by El Toro Bar & Grill in Pontiac, MI, and overall had a pretty good experience. The service was fine—nothing exceptional, but attentive enough. I ordered a meal that came with generous portions, which was definitely a plus. You won’t leave hungry.

The atmosphere is colorful and lively, though I have to admit the Day of the Dead skulls in the decor caught me off guard. They’re artistically done, but something about them felt a little creepy to me—not quite the vibe I expected when sitting down to eat. Might just be personal taste.

All in all, it was an okay visit with solid food and a festive setting. Worth checking out if you're in the area and curious.“
