Seems more like a hipster place now, walked it and felt out of place immediately. People we interacted with were kind of rude. They did have a wedding there but doesn't mean your can have a bad attitude in the serving business.
Born and raised in Valpo, I'm so happy this property is being successfully used. Our tour started at 3:30pm, but our tour guide Jeff ran well over the 60 minutes that the website indicated. Jeff was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the Distillery so I think he's doing a wonderful job at representing the company. Unfortunately we had dinner reservations at 5pm which we didn't think would be a problem since the tour was supposed to wrap up at 4:30pm....
We arrived late afternoon on a summer Sunday. Impressive entrance with display of whiskey bottles. Host mumbled something about no seating outside and a 15 minute wait for table seating (despite mostly empty tables with others sitting at about 7-8 tables) but we could sit at the bar, so we did. Bartender was very friendly, welcoming and very good making his craft cocktails. Bloody Mary (delicious and well garnished) for us with a cheese and bacon stuffed order if essentially...
