Black Star has a nice tasting setup and good service. We tried a wine flight and old fashioned flight on their patio area at our most recent visit. Their pricing per bottle is mid-level. We are looking for a variety of flavors in red wines and theirs tend to blend together for us and don’t provide as varied an experience as some other Old Mission wineries. It’s cool that they have a distillery. We will stop by again when we are in the area.
Black Star Farms’ location on the Old Mission Peninsula is a pleasant spot with a good selection of drinks to try. I stuck with trying wines from their main brand, but my friend was able to get a flight of old fashioned cocktails too. They also had a tasting of their spirits. We’ve been to Black Star multiple times over the years and always have a great experience. Their winter harvest riesling and cab franc reserve are enjoyable and some of my favorites. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly.
