Went here to have a glass of wine and to enjoy the view of both bays at once. Staff is very helpful. Liked all 3 of the dry whites and the rose we tasted. Great location for the views of the area.

Hawthorne Vineyards was the last stop late in a long day of wine tasting on the Mission Peninsula. Thank goodness we made the stop, since it turned out to be the best one by far. While a bit off the beaten path, you’ll find Hawthorne to be a charming and peaceful setting that will make you want to stay and relax for some time. Their wines were delicious, the selection of wines was terrific, and cost wise it was the most reasonable of all the tastings we did. But the best part of the stop was our host Lauri, who was extremely engaging, personable, and very knowledgeable about the wines she was serving. We’re so glad we stopped, and will not hesitate to return next time we’re in the area.

We loved the red wines here. We didn't think we would find Michigan red wines that were bold and smooth, but we were really impressed with what we tried at Hawthorne Vineyards! The views are great and the popcorn flight was yummy too! Great service and an overall excellent experience.

Our first Michigan wine tasting. We picked Hwthron as our first stop because we noticed Auxerrois as one of their wines, and we have been wanting to try it.Beautiful setting with very nice viewsThere's a big trading bar and ~4 tables in the main room, a nice patio, and then grounds with chairs. I think there's an upstairs, though we didn't go up there.It was really busy yet they seated us very quickly. Everyone was really friendly and helpfulThere are several flights ryou can buy glasses or bottles. We did 2 flights and bought a bottle to go.The wines we tried were all nice. I didn't fall in love and need a case shipped home, but all drinkable. What we tasted: Chardonay(ish) Flight, which included a stainless steel and an oaked chardonnay as well as an AuxerroisPremium Flight, which included a sparkling wine, merlot cab franc blend, and a LembergerPopcorn Flight, which is 3 types of popcorn to pair with your wine....kind of silly but I saw it on YouTube and had to try it.My rating rationale +1 Service+1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality+1 Presentation+1 Atmosphere/vibe+1 Value

A group of 12 of us visited Hawthorne Vineyards as one of our stops on a wine tasting tour, and I am so glad we did! The customer service was amazing, even with our bigger group, the wine selection was nice, and the atmosphere and views were lovely. Most of us tried their different flight options, which is a fun way to try a few things. We also appreciated the family friendly vibe, as we had a younger one in our group as well, who was able to enjoy a nonalcoholic beverage and still feel included in the fun. Definitely recommend visiting here!
