If you search Minerva's online either by restaurant or via the Park Place Hotel website, you will be lead to believe through its description, menu and photos that it is a high end restaurant - maybe a 3.5 to 4 star one. In fact, it has poor service with a young staff that is not trained in restaurant service, a poor wine list and mediocre food.
If you can't get in anywhere else, Minervas is fine. But that's about it - food quality is average, service is spotty. Don't stray too far from standard fare or you may be disappointed. But for a burger or French dip, it's fine.
The food at Minerva's was excellent! I ordered the Chicken Piccata, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the lemon butter sauce complemented the dish without overpowering it, and the portion was just right. The asparagus was also cooked perfectly with just a little crunch, exactly how asparagus should be. Soggy asparagus is one of my biggest pet peeves, and this was spot on.
