If they keep working at it and if the whatever the bottleneck is in this place that's preventing them from putting out really really good 5 star dishes - I imagine it's probably the owner it almost always is - of the multiple dishes we had the Charred Octopus was the only five star dish it was flawless and it brought tears to one's eyes. Trattoria Stella was exceptional. The food, atmosphere, and overall vibe were exactly what you hope to find in Traverse City. Our server, Jess, was fantastic—warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience even better. Everything we had was excellent, and the setting has a great combination of character and upscale charm. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Traverse City and a place I'd come back to.
