“they give you an ungodly amount of food at the hibachi table, and they also force a 20% tip which i never agree with businesses doing that. the food was good, but not worth over 100$ for 2 people when half the plate is just rice and noodles. that said, it's still a great choice for a one-time experience.“

“We had an amazing meal, drinks and experience at Zao Jun. We were planning on heading through the area and checked out their menu online and it looked amazing. Our server was actually the bartender Jeff who was pulling double duty and did it flawlessly and with laughter. We had amazing drinks....the crab rangoons and sauce were the best we ever tasted and so was the miso soup (got more to take home). And the veggie lo mein and short ribs bao buns were outstanding and perfectly portioned for my daughter and I to try (and still have lo mein to take home). Her and I already plan to go back and sit at the bar next time because Jeff seriously won us over with his personality as well as the food and atmosphere!!“

“By far the best Thai restaurant around! The food is so fresh and delicious. The flavors are authentic and the portions are large. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and recently moved away from the area but I still drive 40+ mins to eat here! “I recently made my first visit back to Bangkok Express in quite some time, and it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane! This place used to be one of my go-to spots to take my Aunt Bertha in between her doctor visits and physical therapy sessions, and it holds a special place in my heart as we approach a year since her transition. We always ordered the sweet-and-sour shrimp (no heat), adding extra onions and shrimp for that burst of flavor!

Walking into the restaurant, I noticed they’re still operating with the COVID-style wrap and cover, so there's no dining in anymore, which was a bit disappointing. However, the warm welcome from the family that runs the place made up for it. They were incredibly friendly, and it felt great to see familiar faces.

The food was just as delicious as I remembered! While chatting with a couple who were visiting for the first time, I was happy to share my recommendations. I’m glad I could provide them with an accurate review based on my past experiences.

“I worked in Hazel Park and would pass this place every day so my curiosity was piqued. Hands down it’s one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. Do call and place order before arrival, it takes around 30-40 minutes, the kitchen area is quite small.“
