“Fantastic food, friendly and attentive staff, good prices, and a great menu with diverse selections. This is the best breakfast place around, with no exceptions. The staff is accommodating, the food is meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, and the selections keep you coming back. 10/5 stars!Parking: Easy in, easy out lot with two access points, very short walk to the door.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice, wide wheelchair access right at the front door, wide spacing and easy to navigate for those with physical challenges.“

“We tried LaRue's for the first time today. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated right away. The food was HOT and good! I was so happy to have a high quality breakfast that was served quickly and and tasted like you'd expect a local diner to taste! We will definitely be back!“

“The bad: Outdated dining area with dim lighting, and our waiter was extremely polite but had terrible body offer and it was extremely strong which isn't very pleasant while trying to eat dinner.The good: the drinks were very very strong and well made. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly with generous portions.“

“I love this place, I used to eat here more often with my grandparents and recently ate here again and I will say it lives up to my memories, I highly recommend buttermilk pancakes it what I always get here, it comes with cinnamon butter (the best kind) and syrup, personally I think that the small stack is enough for someone who doesn't eat a huge amount but you can still stomach the large stack. oh yeah you can also get bacon or sausage with it, and at least with the bacon it was cooked really well.“

“Best short ribs I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve never had a more tender piece of meat. We had the feature appetizer, kale Cesar salad, and my husband got the fish and chips and everything was incredible! Such a fun and different atmosphere with the grocery store underneath. You would never expect it to be such a classy and beautiful restaurant above but the atmosphere, food and drinks were all absolutely wonderful! We will definitely be back.“

“This was the first time I've been here and it was really nice. We had brunch with the adult kids and they really loved the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. I really enjoyed the vegetarian biscuits and gravy. Great, pleasant, and attentive servers. If you haven't tried this gem in portage, then what are you waiting for?!?! Oddly, the owner was not friendly, when your sitting down at the Cafe bar.and you're waiting for service and she walked up to me, I smiled and then she walked away? Good morning? Need a menu? Have you been waited on? Probably just worn out, just odd when she was chatting with everyone else. Strange. Good place for a quick breakfast, just not much love lol.“

“First spacious so a person with a scooter or walker can move around. I love the eclectic menu! I had a very outside the box, eggs Benedict and it was on a fried green tomato ! Soo good! Service is very quick and friendly. Wifi is available!“

“Beautiful views of the water and great fireplaces to sit near. There are some tables with very comfy arm chairs too. Food is delicious! If you like lots of flavors, you'll really be pleased. Service was pretty good, but could have been more attentive. It may have been a little understaffed while we were there.“

“Very good! The service at this restaurant was very attentive and kind. Our waitress was helpful and the manager checked to see how we were doing. I had the salmon ravioli which was fantastic! My husband had the meatloaf and he thought it was good. We also got the kids ravioli with veggies and it was the most food we’ve gotten with a kids meal before! Overall great experience!“
