“This is the only, local market chain, fried chicken joint that I've found to be consistent, and I walk away happy with the money I spent.

All the other big chain chicken places in the area have no consistency on orders, quality, or service. Your 2nd best bet is the deli inside the local supermarkets, but supporting local quality will always come first.

Highly recommend, and I hope the resurgence they've gone through continues. Really appreciate the friendly staff, and even fair wait times during lunch/dinner rush. High volume moving behind the counter when you order inside is always a good sign your chickens coming out hot and fresh. Kids love the tenders they have, the fried chicken itself is good. The sides are pretty standard, haven't found any I didn't like. I like some of their fish options as well.

Interior hasn't been updated in my near 30 years alive in the area, but its part of the charm. I prefer to drive the 3 minutes into town to sit at one of the peaceful parks by the river with the kids.

Only thing that would make this place 5 stars is some actual biscuits instead of rolls, and maybe a bit more seasoning in the batter. Building and lot could use an update as well, but I hope those are all things in the works.”

I especially love their protein donuts — Not only are they delicious, they make for a great treat while keeping you on track for macro goals. You can tell they put care into both their products and customer service.

Just a heads up, their pancakes are not the big, fluffy ones; they are the old-fashioned flat pancakes. My grandson said they were better than any other pancakes. Highly recommend this place for breakfast. I will be back to try more on their menu.”

“Stopped in for a quick lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was modest. The food? That was the star of the show. You’d be hard pressed to find a tastier taco (Mexican style on a corn tortilla).

The combination of great food at a very modest price has me looking forward to passing through Hartford, MI again.”
