Amazing dinner tonight! Happy accident to land here and we were soooo glad we did! We have eaten at their sister restaurant 76 Holland and as good as that is, we enjoyed Public so much more! Staff was working short handed and got slammed right after we came in. Meredith did amazing keeping up with all of the drinks and still giving us amazing service! Food came out piping hot and was delicious. We had the lump crab Rangoon, coconut wallleye and the shrimp and walleye. Everything...read full review
Meredith and Jade were fantastic! Such amazing service! The food was wonderful. Drinks were unique in the BEST way! We LOVE the carrot cake! A must for every date night!!
We sat outside on a perfect Saturday evening. The cozy historic buildings and quiet small town atmosphere is so charming. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, and I got the short rib grilled cheese with tomato soup. We mmMmmmmmm'd our way through the entire meal. Excellent food and the cutest setting! We will definitely visit again.

Public Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of standout dishes and cocktails. The Southern Shrimp Beignets, a blend of savory beignets, hot honey, blue crab, and pimento cheese, set the tone for the evening. The Public Prime Cheeseburger, served on a pretzel bun with a choice of cheese and hand-cut fries, is a testament to classic comfort food. The Maple Basted Scottish Salmon, paired with butternut squash, whipped goat cheese, bacon-onion jam, and maple brown butter, is a delightful combination of sweet and savory. The Midwest Wedge salad, topped with buttermilk ranch dressing, candied bacon, red onion, tomato, and crumbled bleu cheese, provides a crisp and flavorful balance. The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with the attentive service, further enhances the dining experience. While the space can get loud when full, the diverse menu and quality of the food make Public Restaurant a recommended destination for both casual and special occasions. Recent reviews highlight attentive servers and satisfying dishes, though some mention that the online menu may not always reflect what is available in the restaurant. Overall, it remains a nice place for dinner with friends, offering delicious food, good portions, and a cozy setting.
