Super fun atmosphere, and the mixologist are awesome.
We were in Anoka looking for somewhere to have a drink and a snack. We happened to stop at The Hardware Store. We are in our 60’s and I immediately thought we will not be welcome here. Clearly it is a young person bar. I was so wrong. I can not remember the last time that I stopped into a bar with such outstanding service. Initially we could not figure out where we ordered drinks. The Hardware Store in Anoka is a speakeasy-style bar with a very pretty, dimly lit atmosphere, couches, and comfy seating. The entry is decorated with a fun theme, and guests are given a secret code to enter, adding to the speakeasy experience. The drinks are crafted better than any bar, with fantastic cocktails like The Prince Symbol, Marilyn's Nightcap, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Red Light, White Russian w/ Love, Silencio por favor, Old Fashioned, and Bee Crusher. All drinks are really good, reasonably priced, and the bartenders are very well-versed, able to make any drink on the spot. The service is outstanding, with staff being kind, nice, helpful, fast, and very approachable. There is a stage for live music, and food options are available. Reservations are highly recommended as it is a smaller, more intimate space. Guests must go up to the bar to order a drink and then return to their table. The vibe is cool, hip, and chill with a 1920's throwback feel. This is one of the favorite places in Anoka, hands down, and guests are definitely coming back with friends.
