“The Hive was a pleasant surprise when I moved back here 3 years ago. Cozy, great sandwiches and pastries plus love the fresh squeezed lemonade. My go to are the Ruben and the roast beef sandwiches. There usually is a lunch special every day and i like the pasties, gumbo, enchiladas, stews, breakfast burrito, among others. You can also special order any of the baked goods.“
“OMG when in the Virginia/Biwabik/Aurora area Carlson’s is a must stop for the Yooper/Cornish pasty! It’s a one meat-filled pastry meal! They’re so rich we had to split one between two people lol. I guess we’re light weights. It’s so fun to get a taste of local iron range culture. Pasties were the original Iron Range miners’ lunch in a bag. Get the one with rutabaga!“
