“I haven't been to ihop in many years and this experience did not disappoint. The staff are so quick and efficient and it was pretty busy on a Sunday morning. The gluten sensitive pancakes are amazing! And you can get them with different toppings. I am so thankful they now carry these. It was the reason I stopped going so many years ago. They also have turkey bacon or impossible sausage if you don't eat beef/meat.“
“Amazing breakfast!! We love trying small diners (ordering our staple breakfasts for fair comparison) whenever we travel & Al’s didn’t disappoint! The hash browns are phenomenal & remind me of potatoes my grandma used to make. The staff is friendly & the atmosphere is perfect.“
“Even with a completely full parking lot they were able to seat us in 10 mins.I got the strawberry banana Dutch baby and it was absolutely for the wait 20 minute wait for it to cook. It had what looked like a full banana and 2 cups of fresh strawberries on top along with whip cream and a strawberry syrup. Also had a coffee and that was pretty standard, no complaints. My wife got a Northwoods hashbrown and she said it was also very delicious and filling. She also got an OJ that was very fresh, I think they squeezed it today. A little too pulpy in our opinion but still very good.Definitely beats going to the big franchises if you are willing to wait a little longer for food to come and pay a little more.Overall the bill came to just shy of $50 for the 2 of us.“
“Ordered biscuits and hot pies - absolutely delicious! Exceeded my expectations for taste. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. Look forward to the day Hot Hands offers shipping for all of their frozen items! Until then I will be happy to visit their restaurant in St. Paul.“
“It was so cozy and i loved my food. It was finger licking. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! It is so refreshing having to eat omelette or a mixture bowl of veggies with eggs without having to feel like u drank a gallon of oil right after. 10/10. Literally ATE THAT!!!!!“
“It doesn’t get much better than this for a classic diner breakfast. The location is small and extremely busy, for good reason, so try to get here early. We got here around 7 am on a Sunday, and were able to get a seat right away. But when we were leaving there was a line out the door. The food here hits all the right marks for diner breakfast. I got the country fried steak and eggs, and everything was exceptional. Steak was cooked perfectly and the hash browns were extremely crispy. My wife got the corned beef hash, which was also excellent. We shared the cinnamon roll, which was massive. With how big the portion sizes are here, you’re bound to leave full. And to top it all off the prices are so cheap! All of this cost us around $30, which is unheard of for eating out anywhere near the Twin Cities.“
“Dined in on 3/25 and was greeted by Thunder who was very pleasant and inviting! He talked me through some great menu items and mock tails! I very much his service and the atmosphere provided by the Nicollet Diner! 10/10 will definitely be coming back!“
“Our group of 11 went in for breakfast on our one sons bday. We aren't from the area. Everything was absolutely great. From our waiter (I didn't catch his name) being so kind and welcoming, to our food that simply amazed all of us, to the souvenir mug that I got for our other son. We can't wait to come back because this place is a must!“
“When you walk in you will see a lot of pictures, art, knick knacks which gives this diner a great ambiance and a lot to look at. The food all came out delicious. No parking lot so you will need to find street parking and walk to restaurant.Kid friendly.“
“The staff is helpful and friendly. We got to talk with the owner for a bit and learned that the bread is fresh made in house, and the bacon is smoked in house as well. The food is delicious! The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable.“
“Hidden gem! We are visiting and wanted a nice homey-feeling breakfast and found Hovie’s. The waitstaff were very nice and attentive. The food is GREAT! It was exactly what we were craving. They prefer you pay with cash, so make sure you take some!“
“Great food, wonderful service. Recommend the Greek Omelette - unbelievable. Largest side of bacon I've ever had and perfectly cooked. Oddly, for being named the coffee cup, the coffee is on the weak side. But once the food arrives who cares.“
“What a nice surprise. I usually judge a place by their ability to do something correctly, for this Eggs over hard. You would be surprised how miraculously some places mess this up. But Brothers got it perfect, first try. I will be back, great tasking food, cool vintage atmosphere, and great prices too.“
“Went on Easter. The rush was ending. However the service was friendly, quick and ever responsive. Very impressive!Food was delivered in less than 7 minutes. It was hot and was presented just like in the menu pictures.25% tip was deserved. This is a charming family owned business which is a delight to see.“
“My previous review basically said they needed to renovate. It looks like that is now happening... we will see how that goes. As always, the service here is pretty good, and when they get the place renovated, it will be a much more pleasant experience.“
“We hired the wakey wakey food truck for our son’s high school graduation party and it was a huge hit! Everyone raved about how delicious the food was! The owners were extremely easy to work with, professional and responsive. All in all a wonderful experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for fantastic food and a convenient experience.“
