“We had a very comfortable stay at the Palmer House recently. We were in town for one day for a wedding. The historic nature of the hotel and nods to Sinclair Lewis were a draw. The best part of our stay was the excellent service from booking to check-in/check out. We were met with friendly and caring staff at each encounter. Best of all, Winnie and Dave went far above and beyond when they discovered we had left some items behind in our room. We were far into our journey home—too far to turn back. I asked if they could ship our belongs and charge us to the postage, but they went one better and arranged to drop off our items at our house! They had a trip to a neighboring town scheduled, and they added this stop along the way. This personal touch meant so much. It shows you how nice it is to have local, independent ownership in a business.“

“Clean parking lot, clean exterior, easy to get in and out of, interior was clean and well lit. My table was clean, the staff was friendly and efficient. I had to take an order to go due to my plans falling through, but everything was fresh, tasty with flavor and well packaged and the price/proportion ratio was proper and good. I'll go back and eat there when I go next time.“

“Watched the Annandale Football semi final game on their big screen TV. The venue was perfect. Ordered appetizers, burgers. salad, and flat bread. Everything was served hot and the server was attentive and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised with the sweet potato fries. They were not crispy tasteless strings of sweet potato, but actual planks of crispy on the outside, moist sweet potato on the inside. I have never had sweet potato fries that are close to these. A must try, you won't be disappointed.\nGreat cocktails too. Impressive that the owner checked on us and wanted to make sure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be back“
