“This is the best Thai food around! I’ve never been disappointed in the food, and the service is always amazing. Super fast pick up times for take out, and a beautiful patio for summer. This is my ultimate favorite St. Paul restaurant. Don’t miss out on this gem. Menu highlights for me are Pad Krapao, Laab Isaan, curry fried rice and Pad Woon Sen! 😋“

“Ordered pick-up from this spot tonight for the first time and it was excellent. Probably the best Thai food we've had in a long time and we have some great Thai options in Minneapolis. The pricing is great for the value of what is provided and the current cost of goods and they clearly labeled our curries as gluten free after I asked if they could please be made so in the comments after not seeing if they were GF. It was a thoughtful reassurance on the part of their staff. Our two year old loved the chicken satay, which were referred to as chicken popsicles, which is gross but peaked his interest. The mild curry was still a bit spicy for him but it looked good enough for him to try even with our warning. We will definitely be hitting them up again soon! Thank you!“

“Myself and my fiancé are from Northern Minnesota and were there in July of last year. There were a couple of minor issues with our visit that day, but the food was delightful. Our server suggested that the manager may want to speak with me in regard to our experience, given the nature of the issues that occurred, so I left my business card and honestly forgot about it, as it wasn't that big of a deal to me. Some time later I received a letter at my office from the manager (I found out later that she's actually the owner.) She sent me a check to refund the cost of our meal, along with a very nice note of explanation and apology. The refund was way above and beyond what was necessary or expected. She took full responsibility for the issues that we had experienced at her establishment that day in July. She also asked for another opportunity to serve us the next time that we were in the area. This was a very classy (but unexpected) response to what I would consider to be something that wasn't that big of a deal to me, but it clearly was to her. Given the high standards that she clearly demonstrated for her establishment, there was no doubt that I would honor her request for a second opportunity. This last Saturday we were finally in town again and were able to visit the Basil Café for a second time. We had an absolutely delightful experience in every regard! After our meal, I asked the pleasant young lady that was checking on us if the manager happened to be in on a Saturday. Well, that turned out to be her! Her name is Tiffany, and she is the owner of the Basil Café. I introduced myself to her and she not only remembered the letter that she had sent and the small issues that occurred on our previous visit, but she also remembered my full name from memory!!! We had a very nice conversation and she sent us home with some extra spring rolls that we enjoyed at home later that evening. Tiffany, I also run a business, and the way that you treated us and handled that situation is an impressive lesson in customer service and leadership. You didn't just recover us as customers, you created 2 raving fans of your business through your actions and demeanor along with your wonderful cuisine. You easily could have brushed off the initial experience that we had last year. And, while we weren't upset about it, we likely wouldn't have thought to ever return to your establishment if you had. Instead, you held yourself and your wonderful restaurant to a higher standard, and you made 2 raving fans that will return again and again and will recommend your establishment at every opportunity. Tiffany, thank you for a wonderful dining experience and thank you for a refreshing attitude and demonstration of personal responsibility that you so impressively gave. That level of service and attention to detail is rare in our world today. BTW, the Drunken Noodles are delicious and so are the Spring rolls. We will see you again soon. - Jake & E.“

The food was beyond amazing—each dish was bursting with flavor, and the Pad Thai was the best I've ever had! The ambiance is cozy and warm, with beautiful decor that transports you straight to Thailand. A perfect blend of great service, mouthwatering dishes, and a relaxing atmosphere!“

“The menu clearly marks dishes that can be made vegetarian and there are many options including most curries, noodle dishes, and stir fries. The staff is very nice and there is no issue with asking for the vegetarian option. Prices are reasonable and this is a lovely neighborhood.“

“I've been meaning to try for the last year and finally stopped by and had lunch. Ordered the Samosa and the Pumpkin curry and vietnamese coffee. All were really delicious. I will definitely be back.
Vegetarian options: There were several dishes that could be made vegetarian as you can choose your protein.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. It is wheelchair friendly, but I wasn't able to check the bathroom situation.“

“I stopped in for the Thai tea and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! The tea was delicious, but the real stars were my husband’s curry and the fried rice—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. If you’re planning to visit, I definitely recommend it. They offer spice levels from 1–5; a 2 is perfect if you like just a little heat without it being overwhelming.“

“The fried rice was flavorful and well-balanced — not overly oily, with a good mix of vegetables and seasoning. It had that signature wok-char taste that gives Thai fried rice its depth, and the portion size was generous.
The chicken satay stood out even more. The skewers were grilled perfectly, tender on the inside with just the right amount of char on the outside. The accompanying peanut sauce was rich and creamy, with a slight sweetness that paired beautifully with the grilled chicken.“

“We had a great meal. The restaurant is a bit off the main streets of Uptown. Ordered the chicken satay, pad see ew with tofu and the house specialty green curry walleye. It was all delicious. Our server, Iris, was so friendly and kind. We will be back for more!!“

“Been here about a dozen times and it's fantastic. Pineapple curry and samosas are works of art, as are the soups across the board. Wonderful coffee as well.
Avoid the cashew chicken; it has so little flavor even the English would add some spices to it. It's like eating a Michelob Ultra.
Treat yourself right and get a curry instead.“

“Great food. Great intimate and quiet atmosphere. Great location. Service was great, greeted upon arrival, patient when answering some questions. Very responsive as I texted prior to actually visiting the location to make sure I went to right location. Ordered the shrimp fried rice with 1/2 teaspoon of spice and it was fiya! Right amount of heat, flavor filled and shrimp cooked with the right texture. I ordered the imitation crab wontons, the presentation of these was beautiful. The imitation crab can be a hit or miss for people who like it. Sometimes the warm imitation crab is not as great as the cold imitation crab. I will be brave next time and try the fish meatball wontons. I inquired about the fish and it redfish Bree. Never heard of it so was scared but maybe next time. Definitely will return. Great food. Great service and great atmosphere. ♥️They are really feasible. Appetizer, specialty drink (lemonade with fixings) and entree was about $35 with tip.“

“Always my go-to Asian food, quality is much better than the stuff you get elsewhere in the skyway. The portion size is decent. The food tastes better, too. The stir fry dishes and curries are my go-to. I usually eat them with white rice. They have great service, quick and efficient, and the rice is usually cooked well.“

“I like eating some of the foods in their menu. Some foods tastes good. However, I wouldn't go there for pho, but I would go there for cooked dishes that's served on plates, because those taste better than the pho's. They have good customer service over there when I went.“

“Ordered takeout from here for the first time while working on trying all the Thai restaurants that are within delivery range. This was by far one of my favorite Thai orders in many years - we had the khao soi curry, red curry fried rice, pad Thai along with a couple apps and were floored with how amazing everything was. They actually apply the heat! Will definitely be ordering from here again in the near future.“

“The location of Kindee is perfect for so many who want to see a show at the Guthrie, especially if you need to eat gluten-free! They have so many options on their menu for Gluten-friendly, and everything was delicious! I enjoyed a small teapot of jasmine tea with my mee gati and my husband enjoyed the massaman. My dish was loaded with tasty ingredients on a pool of broth. The broth had just the right amount of spicy kick to bring the flavors to life without overpowering my palate. The massaman was also a touch spicy, but with an interesting sweetness like brown sugar inside! I think we need to keep showing this little restaurant some love because we will definitely come back!“

“We stopped in on a whim for a bite while waiting to go to a show at The Parkway, and everything was so delicious. We had never been here before, so I played it safe and got the pad thai (best pad thai i've had in years) and I am SO eager to return and try more dishes, and some sushi! My partner got the Japanese beef bowl and it was rich and flavorful, with an unexpected ginger flavor under the tender beef and onions. Gyoza was stellar as well as was the Japanese hot tea. Bonus: The couple next to us was raving about their curry as well, and it definitely piqued my interest.
Fantastic job, BaGu! Great food, great service.“

“Second time ordering from here. I wasn’t a fan of my first entree (beef laab esan, was quite dry and tough) and they were kind enough to let me replace it with something else, and went out of their way to proactively modify it to make it even better. I don’t expect this level of going above and beyond anywhere, and I just wanted to say a word of appreciation.
I also got the chicken satay, and it was as fantastic as the first time I had it.
I grabbed mango w sweet sticky rice, and it was perfect. I’ll be sure to leave them a tip next time I carry out.“

“Decided to stop in here early on Friday night, sat at the bar and chatted with the GM Hunter. He was great, super friendly and quick, the sushi was amazing, got a lychee martini with actual lychees, atmosphere overall was great. Seemed more like a late-night place so wasn’t as busy around 6 which was nice.“

“Best Thai place in the twin cities in my opinion! Specifically if you like curry - I have ordered takeout from here probably over 200 times over the last 5 years - I’m not joking, and every time I get the Pineapple Curry with Chicken, I hope this place stays open for as long as I live because it is my absolutely favorite meal.“
