“-Vinai MN- My friend and I wanted to try Chef Yia's restaurant due to being homesick and wanting hmong food. We were met with such great service and sat where we could see the work area. Chef Yia was so kind and started us off with a complimentary appetizer, rice Curry balls. We ordered and the food came so fast. As soon as I took a bite, my eyes started to get teary because it tasted like food from home. I started fanning myself to not cry which Chef Yia saw and asked if the food was too spicy. We then started to explain that we were not from MN and were feeling a bit homesick and how the food reminded us of home. Chef Yia then said, here let's do this. He returned with a pot of beef soup that consisted of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, beef and green onion and white rice and shared that this dish was one of those dishes that we would eat at gathering and events. We we so shocked and so at loss with his kindness and compassion. We both took a bite and immediately lighted up. It tasted like my mom's cooking 💓. As we were nearing the end of our meal, Chef Yia told us not to stuff ourselves too full and surprised us with a complimentary dessert which further awed us. We were so lost at words for Chef Yia's kindness, generosity and comfort. We chose the Lava Cake and it was soooo good! I normally don't like sweets but we devoured this 😋. 1000/10 would recommend.“

“For the second year-in-a-row we've had Chef Jeff Catering at our annual Gala + Award Show. This year is was held in April at Union Depot in downtown St. Paul. We have to share that the spread of food and service was exceptional. The food was good quality. The catering staff was knowledgable about the venue location inside and out and made everything easy for us along the way.“

“Phenomenal food and a wonderful chef! We had Caribbean Kitchen cater an evening fundraiser at the Windward Fest in Wayzata last month. I was thrilled by the delicious and soulful food, including favorites like conch fritters and little key lime pie tarts. The beans and rice and the jambalaya was amazing too. I saw people going back for thirds! The chef/owner is the sweetest, kindest, most helpful guy in the world too! Highly recommend!!! ❤️❤️❤️“
“Our experience using Classic Catering for our wedding had some ups and downs but was overall fine.
The food: We had a buffet dinner for our reception, and many of our guests went out of their way to compliment the food.
Day-of service: The staff we interacted with were super friendly, and our day-of coordinator said the catering lead and our late-night staff person were excellent to work with. Unfortunately, there was no water on the head table during dinner, despite us having to pay extra for water & carafes and our wedding party asking for refills several times. My sister wound up having to go refill the carafes herself a couple times during dinner. This wouldn’t have bothered us if it weren’t a service we had to pay extra for on top of the rest of the meal.
The planning process: Our point of contact during the planning process was quick to respond, but communication wasn’t always proactive and was often a bit confusing, requiring me to follow up more than I would have expected to clarify things. They could avoid a LOT of confusion by making the information on their website more clear. For example, the majority of the veggie sides are described as sauteed with butter – but when I asked about dairy-free options for guests with allergies, I was told they don’t actually use butter, but a butter substitute. Because of the dairy and egg allergies in our group, I was assured that all items on the buffet line would have placecards with allergen info, but day-of, that allergen info was missing from some cards. Thankfully, nothing bad happened -- but it could have, if the folks with allergies didn't go out of their way to clarify, which they shouldn't have had to do.
Nothing that was the end of the world, but given the price point of any wedding caterer being so high, I would have expected less stress surrounding our work with them.“

“My daughter and I are acai bowl connoisseurs and have had acai bowls all over this country. We both agree that this is far and away the best we've ever had. It is the most delicious acai and the most generous amount. I always get the same thing. Classic bowl with extra peanut butter, cocoa nibs and coconut flakes added to the granola and banana. At home I add my own blueberries and strawberries. I try to limit myself to 2 or 3 a week but the cravings are powerful.“
“We had Kafe 421 do one of the dishes at our 15-year Anniversary Gala + Award Show event. This year they made Phyllo Pizza. With Sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, feta and mozzerella. Was very tasty. We recommend them for your catering needs!“
“The Lumber Exchange was a dream venue to work with and we had our perfect wedding in the Fountain Room. Everyone we worked with was so kind, flexible, friendly, and helpful! We worked with Hannah throughout the planning and she made it so easy to work through all the details in a manageable way. She was so patient with all of our questions and tequila requests and really helped us plan our dream day.
For our decor drop off/pick up and day of everything went SO smoothly. Echo and Shannon were so helpful throughout the day, working with our DoC and family/friends. Everyone raved about them and mentioned how helpful and nice they were. All of the servers, the chef, the bartender, and anyone else I’m forgetting were so kind to our guests.
The venue is obviously gorgeous and that combined with the outstanding service led to the endless compliments we’ve received on the night and how wonderful it was.“

“If you're just another trucker with points on your license then you end up doing broker loads and end up with situations I see complaints about on here. It depends on who you are working for because I delivered to a company that delivers here twice a week I don't have to touch a thing and I'm in and out of there with no problems. Because the company I work for doesn't work if you're not one of those super truckers. Take care of your license and your license will take care of you.
For example right now I'm delivering here and I got here yesterday around lunch time and they backed me into DOC number two then this morning they tell me they want the other stuff from the same shipper first and then another truck as well. But my company pays me hourly from 5:00 a.m. no having to wait 2 hours before getting paid and they have me sitting here all day I'm getting paid anyway. And when it comes to unloading all I do is use their electric jack to run the stuff off and put it inside. So I'm in no rush I get paid Mi and I get paid hourly with no having to give anyone 2 hours for free. And the shipper charges them for all the time that I'm here.“
“Did a small trial with deli Double and loved the food, value and service. They catered a meeting and everyone loved the food. Starting with the delicious assortment of nut breads, donuts and baked treats followed by super fresh fruits. The variety of generously filled sandwiches were a big hit including the requested gluten free bread on a few and a few veggie only sandwiches. Gourmet chicken salad sandwich on croissant was amazing. The coffee stayed hot all day and still tasted good. The variety tray of bars/cookies was delicious and that baby field green salad with honey balsamic dressing was a highlight for sure! “Stopped here after dropping someone off at the airport for breakfast. It is inside an office building, but quite a lot of space including shuffleboard and foosball games. We had the vegan breakfast burrito and vegan breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was ok, but the burrito was better. Service was fast. Vegan options were clearly marked on their menu. Would stop by here again.“

He is the Creme de la Creme. Incredible food, wonderful presentation, profession, elegant, and takes care of everything. My guests raved. Don't think twice!“

“I was driving by and did a double take when I saw their sign. I decided to stop in to see what they offered because Nigerian restaurant menus tend to vary. It’s a small carryout only spot. The woman working there was very nice and accommodating. I informed her that I’m vegan and inquired about a few of my favorite Nigerian foods: egusi, greens, jollof, and beans. She didn’t have egusi. She stated that she had greens but they’re made with fish. She then offered to make me a fresh batch sans the fish if I had time to wait. I most certainly do! It wasn’t a long wait either. I got a hefty container of food for about $15. There was enough food for 2 days (if I wasn’t being greedy).I tried my food right away. The greens were very good and clearly freshly made with quality produce. The beans were good. The jollof rice was SLAMMIN!! Perfection in the flavor department!I’m unsure how long they’ve been open, but they seem fairly new. They’re located in a strip mall with other small, locally owned businesses. Again, it’s carryout only; you cannot sit in and eat. (I ate in my car.) They also offer catering services.Be sure to check out this spot if you’re in the MSP area.
