Despite stopping at the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, it was not very busy. The staff were very friendly, and the food was prepared quickly. The food was very good, and the serving sizes were large.

Amazing place ! So glad I checked it out, their tacos come with a decent amount of food and additions for being priced quite affordable under 10 dollars.Vegetarian options: Since you can build your own taco you can make it veggie friendly and enjoy a good time with your friends :)

My husband and I are vegan and had trouble finding vegan options in Grand Marais, until we found this adorable place! They have a fully vegan option (didn’t have to make any changes), which is rare in a small town! We loved the food, atmosphere, and service. The only negative we would mention is that the hot sauces had drippings down the bottles/were quite sticky and the serving tray we received our food on was also very sticky. These are minor things, so we will definitely be returning when we are back in Grand Marais!

Me and my friends (2 r Mexican) ate here. I ordered a burrito and a side of nachos and it was very expensive. Not a problem. until I tried this abomination. In the most friendly way possible, please consider researching more about Mexican cuisine. With all due respect This is a disgrace to call that thing a burrito or those Gyros, tacos. Service was good. Please play some music. It’s hard enough to eat this food without music

Before you say, “$10 for a TACO! What in tarnation!” you need to realize these aren’t just any tacos. Regular corn shells from the grocery store with cheap hamburger with a little pepper and tabasco sauce? HELL NO! These tacos have savory homemade fry bread shells, and are loaded with delicious and well prepared meats and ingredients. Their sauces alone are ?. And they’re big enough to fill up the Paul Bunyan in all of us. In addition to knock your socks off tacos they got some delectable sides, and a HUGE selection of brews to help wash everything down.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of child seats and a relaxed atmosphere that won’t overwhelm your shorties.

Middle of the road taco, high prices, owner may be unhinged ??‍♂️Edit - actually I have reviewed a small local family run Mexican restaurant five stars in Prescott, sorry that you think Fry bread is revolutionary. Take a chill pill. ?

Awesome tacos and a great place to eat in Grand Marais! The frybread tacos are so great - not greasy and everything you love about frybread. The menu includes really unique combinations of meats, flavors, toppings, but also offers flexibility to build your own taco. Customers will order at the counter and then your name is called when you can pick up your order. The wait for the food was very minimal. There was plenty of seating available - different sizes of tables and also a few counter-type seats that area long the window. The restaurant is easily accessible along the highway through town and brightly lit up. The rest of the menu looks so great, I wish I could have eaten many more meals here!

If you go there thinking you're going to get the same delicious taste and service as Hughies Tacos you'll be sadly disappointed! THIS FOOD WAS TERRIBLE! We ended up throwing away over half our food! We have always looked forward to stopping by Hughies every visit to Grand Marais. Often times we'd visit several times per week. After eating at Hungry Hippie tacos we'll never return! We have discouraged friends and family from going here! UPDATE! The owner reached out to me after this review, scolded me and then threatened to tell all the businesses and mayor of Grand Marais about me! What?????

If you’re coming off a long day of hiking or back from some time in the in the BWCA (or even if you’re only moderately hungry), this might be one of the best meals of your life. In our opinion, this place has *the best tacos* in Minnesota. Albeit nontraditional with their frybread shells, the outstanding flavors can not be denied. Highly recommend the pork with sauerkraut, sweetcorn, jalapeños, and chipotle sour cream. If there is a line, wait. You won’t regret it.
