Let me first start off by saying that I am sad we have to leave tomorrow. We certainly got more than we bargained for when booking this place. Not only are the rooms Competitively priced, they are bigger AND better than a cruddy ol' hotel. We Stayed in room #1. The layout has a HUGE bedroom with a separate sink area and then the toilet and shower/bath combo behind the door . The king size bed is a memory foam mattress. I honestly got the best night sleep that I’ve had in YEARS… One thing worth noting is that there is no tv in the bedroom, this was not a concern for myself personally but it might be for someone else. Also there was no plug in for my phone on the right side of the bed but I just used the one by the dresser at the foot of the bed. Again, not a concern for me but for someone it might be. The living area is complete with a leather futon sofa, a nice lounge chair, a smart tv and board games also a kitchen table. The kitchen is attached to the living space which looks right out over the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the dishes to cook or bake. It also has a toaster, microwave, oven and a full sink and next to the sink in a cupboard you’ll find a fire extinguisher. It has a very nice wrap around deck and easy access to the water by using a side door. They have a small playground for kids and a tetherball. They also have canoes and kayaks, (I also believe a jet ski and maybe a pontoon to rent) I’m not 100% sure on that tho. There is a cabin next to the water that sells bait (I didn’t look in the tanks to see if there actually was any, but the tanks were running and bubbling so I assume something was in them) It looked like an honor system type situation as no one was in it and it had signs for prices. It’s in the little cabin where the lifejackets are hanging with a silver sink outside. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises with indoor and outdoor seating. Regretfully, I didn’t eat here as I had eaten earlier in the day and was still full and the next day I stayed was Sunday and they aren’t open on Sunday’s. Oh another thing to note (which also was a plus for me) is that it was SELF Check in. I walked into the building and on a bulletin board hung the keys to my room and a note with my name and the instructions. It was so simple and easy. There is free WiFi. I read in the binder they leave on the kitchen table that the property also has a 24/7 community room. (I also didn’t check that out. It is DOG friendly and my dog absolutely LOVED it here as well. My stay was quiet and peaceful. This place is only 15 min from Grand Marais. We WILL be coming again!! Thank You for making our stay unforgettable! - Amber and Solar (the longhaired dachshund) Ps sorry the pictures are after we messed up the room haha. I had taken a video before we messed it up but google wouldn’t let me post that. (Thankfully I copied and pasted my Google review because Google wouldn’t let me post it 😡) so I’ll post it here instead :)
We had the best time at the Skyport lodge! What a great hangout for snowmobilers! We had access to our sleds right from our room.
Jess in the bar was wonderful and personable. The dogs were adorable and fun!
We would highly recommend staying here! Don’t hesitate, just book it!! We will be back!!

Great food and service
The bar is excellent. Good service and the bartender remembered all of our drink preferences.
Stopped here on the snowmobiles for lunch. Good soup and salad. Excellent service.

The room was great. But when it comes to service in the bar and restaurant. Poor. Waited 20 minutes to get a drink and another 15 minutes to pay. Due to the fact they catered to a guy playing pull tabs $20 at a time. I pay for 2 nights and some clown playing pull tabs has priority. I won't stay there again!
We just love being at Skyport. We’ve stayed here many times across different seasons, both in the cozy lodge rooms and the well-appointed cabins, and every visit has been nothing short of exceptional. The location is stunning, offering the perfect blend of Northwoods beauty and lakeside serenity.
The Christiansons are truly amazing hosts—warm, welcoming, and always making our stay feel like coming home. Their hospitality is a huge part of what keeps us coming back multiple times a year. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, they go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable.
Raven Rock Grille is another highlight—the food is outstanding, and the bar has a great atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. We first discovered Skyport Lodge after volunteering for the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, and that trip sparked not just cherished memories but also lasting friendships and a deep love for this special place.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Northwoods! Can’t wait for our next visit.

Skyport Lodge is a wonderful place to stay! Don't even hesitate, just book it now! I stayed in the first floor King Suite and it was beautiful and so well appointed. The Lodge sits right on the water and has many outdoor places to sit, relax and listen to the loons. Taking a kayak out was a great experience. The Cajun Pasta at the restaurant was one of the best I've ever had, and the service was great. Thank you and the resort dogs for a perfect stay! (And it is just 5 minutes from the airport if you are going to I.R.!)

The service at the Raven Rock Grill is awful. We weren’t even acknowledged multiple times. They served others that came in after us or next to us without ever saying a word to us. The worst customer service I have ever received. We ended up leaving and going to another place. It’s unfortunate we have to stay here two more nights and will be leaving to eat since the service was so poor.

I just have to say that this place is 10/10 awesome and we have been coming to grand Marais area for over 15 years and we have stayed on Devil track lake for the past 2 years and we have eaten at the raven rock for the past 2 years and each time has been absolutely phenomenal.
The atmosphere is super laid back and they had live music as well which was a welcome addition. The blackened walleye is no joke the best piece of fish I’ve ever had and their homemade key lime pie is also to die for.
The doggies are also roaming the area and are very friendly.
10/10 will definitely be back again next time we come to Grand Marais!
Thank you!
