What an amazing event space and the wait staff are nothing short of amazing! You always feel welcomed and you’re always taken care of! Bonus: the food is incredible too!
Taconite is a fantastic place to visit! The food is delicious and the customer service is stellar! Try the Chicken pot pie or the Tennessee Hot chicken sandwich! But really… everything is good!!

The Taconite Canteen & Event Center offers an exceptional dining experience with a great selection of tasty and ample-sized dishes. The staff is known for their kindness, generosity, and excellent service, creating a welcoming atmosphere. This restaurant is a great spot for those who enjoy wings, burgers, and the exceptionally good Philly sandwiches. It has received praise for its relaxing atmosphere in the bar area and quiet dining room, making it a perfect place for gatherings, such as a grooms dinner, where everything is effortless to host family and friends. The building features unique decor that reflects the owner's style and showcases Crosby/Ironton's mining history and Scorpion snowmobiles. Additionally, the restaurant has excellent catering services, providing great food and attentive staff for events. Many customers highly recommend trying the prime rib on Fridays, claiming it to be the best in the area, while also noting that holiday buffets and lunch or dinner any day are worth stopping in for.
