“I have to say all the waitresses that were on staff today 8/2/24 from 4-6 while we were there were amazing. This was the first time we have had and seen great service staff here. I hope they can keep this group of staff!!“

“Above and by far the finest old fashioned in town. They have an excellent scotch selection as well. The people are wonderful and the owner Rob especially make you feel welco e and comfortable. If your not drinking here, or even just showing up to say hello and grabbing a soda, then you are missing out on one of the very best parts of downtown brainerd.“

“We enjoyed lunch on the patio around noon on a perfectly sunny day. Great burgers, sandwiches, and home-made-beef stew! Our server was very friendly and efficient. She was also the bartender and hostess that day, so doing everything. She deserves a raise.“
“So a guy from Pine City goes into this place and over a weekend, has new friends and a lot of fun memories. Just talking with the old timers and the locals. I can’t say enough about the bar, the bartenders, the karaoke and the locals that hang out as well as the out of towers like me. Would never think of going to Brainerd without stopping in“

“We're from Wisconsin went to play bingo on Saturday afternoon sat at the bar we had a young lady who bartended who was unbelievable she had a German accent I've never seen anybody hustle like she did it was a very very good experience“
“Wasn't very hungry so we just ordered nachos for the 2 of us. It was a huge portion, more than we could eat. Service was okay. It was bad timing because shift change occurred while we were there. Service was great to start but when our server left then we were ignored by the next shift, had to flag one down when we wanted something so we drank up and left. When I looked back from the door I noticed that the couple moving in to take our seats had a server right there to greet them before they were even seated. Oh well, it's not the only bar in the area.“

“got the grizzlies bloody Mary. for only $13 it was a 28 oz glass with their homemade bloody Mary mix 1/4 of a chicken. The thigh and leg rotisserie style, fabulous, celery cheese olives lemon and bacon. All for $13. then I had an appetizer of firecracker shrimp with blue cheese dressing. It was absolutely delicious!“

“A group of friends and I were at the Commander on Friday and Saturday night...we were so impressed with our waitress both nights. She was working with a broken arm and was always there when we needed a drink or something from the menu. She had a great attitude and was super fun. I believe her name was Alyssa.“
