About AVA

AVA is a fun new dance spot in Minneapolis with a great vibe. The layout offers plenty of lounge space, but the main dance floor is quite small. The basement, however, is a major draw, featuring a famous disco room and another bar. On a Saturday night, the basement was packed to the brim and felt quite stuffy, but it had great music. The music upstairs was just ok. The bartenders and bouncers were great. There was no cover charge, but the drinks are expensive, costing $13-$14 per shot. The main floor can be quite empty early in the night. One visitor reported a negative experience with an over-served drunk oaf trying to start a fight. While some found it too crowded and left quickly, the atmosphere in the basement was reminiscent of popular nightlife spots in other major cities.
