Was planning a special family brunch here today. Called ahead at the weekend to check they would be open on New Years Day and was told definitely 'yes'. Gathered the family this morning and drove over there, only to find they were closed. Very disappointing after I went to the trouble to call several days in advance. Thankfully we found another restaurant for brunch. Downgrading my previous review from 5 to 3 stars due to this misinformation. Hot Plate was always our first choice for brunch so it was frustrating to have to drive around looking for an alternative this morning.“

“This rainy Wednesday was slow at Darling, but I predict it won't stay slow for long. Our food was superb. We shared a side of the amazing, perfectly roasted cauliflower (had the piri piri mayo on the side as it is spicy). My date had a cheeseburger and fries and I had the beef short ribs with breakfast potatoes (because I can't handle milk and there is a little bit in the polenta). Tasty key lime pie. Everything was very satisfying. Friendly staff. I'm so happy that great food has returned to this location.“

We were talking about how I was going through a hard time and our server, Julie H., was near our table and she just reached over and gave me a hug. “Amazing food and drink selection! Very cute atmosphere and vibes. Also Black and locally owned. I ordered both food and drinks, for under $25. Definitely will come back to try the coffee flight they offer. The staff here are very friendly and quick. The two girls working today were phenomenal!“

“Brother’s Cafe has breakfast all day! Best breakfast burrito I have had in years. Daughter said the French Toast was terrific. Husband thought the burger was great. Super nice people running it- stayed open for us when we showed up right after closing time. And they are going to start serving beer next week! Great addition to the neighborhood!“
