My wife and I love food, but typically only go out for one really nice meal a year. This year, we picked Porzana for our anniversary, and we're both glad we did.

The service and atmosphere were great. Shoutout to our waiter, Travis, who expertly took us through the menu and provided great recommendations.

We ordered the Caesar salad, empanadas, Gorgonzola striploin, and the papas aplastadas. We absolutely loved the salad, empanadas, and striploin, all 5 stars for sure. On a return visit, we'd probably try a different potato; we still enjoyed them, but they didn't stand out as much as the other dishes. We also enjoyed cocktails (both of which were great), and they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary, which was a nice touch. I also appreciate that they gave us a table with a view of the kitchen.

All in all, it was easily a 5 star meal. I don't know when we'll be back, but they certainly made our anniversary dinner feel incredibly special.

Excellent food but at a high price point. This is a very loud restaurant when the dining room is full. There is a beautiful patio for dining which was much quieter than inside.

Overall a great place and highly recommend.

I love coming to Porzana. Their service & quality of food is outstanding! I typically get the Bigolli Alla Vodka pasta and Hanger steak, which is always a 10/10 for me. I came for an early birthday celebration and our server, Nick, took amazing care of us. He treated my birthday dinner like a celebratory experience đŸ„č. His interpersonality skills are the icing on the cake for a restaurant that already has amazing ambiance. He was so kind, bubbly, funny and gave great suggestions to our niche taste preferences and even encouraged us to try multiple desserts and drinks that were really tasty and unique. The honey comb lavender gelato was our favorite and executed extremely well, especially considering the price.

Best experience I’ve had so far and I can’t wait to come back. If you’re looking for a great dining experience, ask for Nick or Travis. They were a great duo and will not disappoint!

Thieving waiter, incompetent/indifferent management. I had an appalling experience at Porzana. Four of us stopped by after a fashion event for a bite and a drink. When the check came, two of us put down our credit cards to split the bill, totaling $170.64. But when the waiter brought back our cards and credit card slips to sign, my friend and I saw that we had each been charged $105.32 and then there was the line to add the tip. But even if you’re bad at math, it’s easy to see that $105.32 x 2 =$210.64. So, our waiter added a preemptive “tip” for himself of $20 each to our base total, expecting us not to notice, and then tip him on top of that. THAT IS BLATANT THEFT. When we called his attention to it, he didn’t apologize, just said he would cancel the first charges and re-ring them for the correct amount of $85.32 each. It took three managers 20 minutes to (supposedly) void the original charge and re-ring our cards for the correct amount. They successfully recharged our cards for $85.32, but they never voided the original charges for $105.32. A week later when my credit card still showed both charges from Porzana, I called the restaurant to speak to a manager. I explained the situation and he was vaguely apologetic, but he said that their system showed that they had voided the original charge and there was nothing he could do about it, so I should contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. WHAT?!?! That was in May. It is now the end of September, and I finally got part of my money back from my credit card company after wasting a ridiculous amount of my limited, valuable time on this absolute nonsense. I should’ve just called the cops, and I will next time. I used to work in fine dining, and restaurants used to be my favorite hobby. But Porzana has put the final nail in the coffin for me. Restaurants are already absurdly expensive and “service” is appallingly indifferent and incompetent across the board, but I draw the line at outright theft and management just shrugging at it. I’m done with restaurants. Thanks for nothing, Porzana.

Check-in for our reservation wasn’t as smooth as expected—I was told to wait for someone to seat us, but a few groups who arrived after us were taken right away. When I went back to the host stand, I was greeted like it was my first time checking in. It seemed like a newer host, so we didn’t make a fuss. Once seated though, everything was excellent.

The space itself is really charming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Service was attentive, the food was fantastic, and we had a great time overall. The oysters were fresh, and I highly recommend adding sea urchin—it was a unique and delicious combination. The caviar addition was just okay for me; flavorful, but a little too soft and salty. We also tried the beef tartare and mussels, both of which were delicious.

The Caesar salad and tagliatelle with lobster were split onto two plates, which was a nice touch, though the table felt a bit small since we still had other dishes in front of us (understandable, since we did order quite a bit). The pasta had a great kick to it, and the salad—while fresh and generously portioned—was a bit watery.

Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the service, and I’d definitely recommend this spot.

Pros: Fantastic atmosphere. We sat on the patio and it was perfect. Lovely hostess.

Cons: Our pasta was a bit on the salty side (for our peference), and service could have been better. The server wasnt as knowledgeable as i had assumed (considering its an elevated experience), and I even felt like they were a bit annoyed when I asked about the menu. But they did try their hardest to regain composure. Ill give them that. And they constantly refilled our water, which was great.

My husband and I came here for my birthday dinner recently. We were both SO excited to try it after hearing all the hype, and frankly it was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences we've had in Minneapolis.

The food was okay, but outrageously priced for what you get. We ordered the picanha and I've made better steaks at home. The sweet corn angolotto was good but almost $40 is insane. The cocktails were all nearly $20 in price and underwhelming.

Service was slow and weirdly pretentious. I can't remember our server's name but every interaction we had with him was awkward and uncomfortable.

By far the worst part was how cramped and loud the dining room is. We were squeezed in at a tiny table barely big enough for our drinks, between two large 8+ person parties who were chatting so loudly that we couldn't hear each other at all. The tables were so close together that multiple times, server's rear ends bumped our water glasses, cocktails, and even the candle on the table. I don't know about you, but I'm not interested in drinking a $20 cocktail that someone dipped their backside in to.

For the two of us, our meal cost about $350, and frankly for half the cost you can find much better food and ambience in Minneapolis. We won't be back.

Porzana came highly recommended by some friends and I can agree it lived up to the reputation. A girlfriend and I went to celebrate our friendship anniversary and we both really enjoyed our experience. Definitely make sure you get a reservation because it’s extremely busy and it looked like walk ins (at least on a Friday night) were impossible even at 8:30PM. Parking was definitely tough—we drove around for 15 minutes before a parking spot in a nearby garage miraculously opened up. I would recommend coming with at least 15-20 minutes of buffer time if you’re going on the weekends since the nightlife scene draws in a lot of people to the area.

Food was all delicious, but the tagliatelle and grilled mushrooms took the spotlight for us. Me personally, I didn’t enjoy the papas aplastadas as much as I thought I would but I also don’t gravitate towards roasted potatoes so take that with a grain of salt. Carrot cake was delightful—outshined the ice cream by a mile. My friend got an NA drink and really liked it. I got the Mango, Mango, Mango cocktail and it was so delicious I forgot it had tequila in it.

Our service was pretty solid, especially with our waiter. He was attentive and very accommodating. The only thing was one of the food runners rolled their eyes when they came out with our food. I feel for them because we were seated at a very small table for 2 people and we did order a lot of food. I didn’t take it personally, but it did make it a little awkward. Our server did come and move the vacated table next to us to create more space which was nice.

Porzana review
My husband and I had the most wonderful evening on the lovely patio at Porzana. Our server was wonderful and attentive and was great at making recommendations. Everything we got was absolutely delicious. We were so lucky to have such a beautiful evening out on their quaint and cozy patio. All of the portions were a good size and full of incredible flavor from appetizers to entrée to dessert. The cocktails were exceptional as well. We will definitely be back and can't wait!

This was a great experience! Jarred(spelling?), our water was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. This makes everything so much nicer when a newer restaurant. We went hard with apps and sides. The wagyu beef was amazing as it is usually but pay the extra for the japanese was the advice and that was spot on. Thanks for a great night!

Edit: all I have is photos of empty plates! Yep, that good! đŸ«ŁđŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚đŸ˜‚

This spot has just about the best customer service I've ever experienced. We were moved to the bar because of weather closing down the patio, and they covered ALL our drinks, AND brought out some apps on the house for a minor miscommunication upon arrival. The food was incredible, the drinks were unique and inventive, and the folks behind the bar indulged us in some random questions we had about the menu and the restaurant as a whole. We had the gorgonzola steak with chimichurri (the sauce is so worth the extra cost) and the potatoes aplastadas, and the tagliatelle lobster pasta. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend Porzana!

My husband and I rarely go to restaurants. We cook at home. Decided to give this a try. The positive, service was exceptional, very tentative and kind. It was a Friday night so up/down stairs was packed it was loud but vibrant. Great decor. Seafood and fish is my go to, my husband is the meat and poultry. We ordered a dozen oysters which are from MA. I prefer Pacific but nonetheless I wanted to have them. They were good. For a dozen oysters only two quarter slices of lemon and the typical horseradish and sauce. Tasted the first with nothing on it. The rest with only lemon. If you know how to shuck oysters at home then skip it. Our mains were mussels, ribeye, mushrooms, quartered potatoes with seasoning and cheese (way too much cheese). Mussels were the smallest I’ve ever had and I’ve had mussels globally. Bits of shell crunch with the small mussel and green sauce is not needed, base sauce was VERY oily. Steak was fantastic! Mushrooms were good as well but I did not understand why all the melted cheese on top.

If you don’t cook at home much definitely try this place. It’s spendy though for what you get.
