“My girlies & I spent celebrated my 40th birthday with you yesterday (16.03) & it was incredible. I was literally treated like a princess… we were put in a private function room, complimentary Prosecco, 3 x birthday desserts, & we were looked after SO well by Scott. Honestly couldn’t recommend enough, the food / drink / staff, were SO lovely! Thank you so much for making it so special x“

“Friendly community gathering spot. Pub sings, jam sessions, and gatherings of morris dancers are why I end up here, that they are at Merlins because Merlins has always been enormously welcoming. It's our community home.“

“Okay, I told ya I’d give you the review, so here goes. 🫖
Very private, there was another table that came as we were wrapping up. They had the table set for us as we arrived. Then we all got to pick a tea and received our own tea pot. They had creamer packs, packet honey, rustic sugar cubes, and lemon segments.
A little while after getting the tea we received the tiered tower of treats and sandwiches.
The classic cucumber, a sundress tomato pesto turkey, and curried egg salad in a croissant. All tasty. The top was fruit, cheeses, which included one of my all time
Favorites, sage derby. Also there was a lavender tea cake which was dense yet the lavender was very tasty, it went well with the accompanying clotted cream, and jarred blackberry jam and honey.
The bottom was sweets, I can only speak for the little chocolate pudding which was good. I heard the macaroons were great, there were two kinds, but at that point I couldn’t even look. lol. Also blueberry scone.
Well worth the price of under $40 a person. And worth the drive. They had their own parking ramp and it was easy in and out.“

“Burgers are great, just well executed old school bar food. Staff can be spread thin but usually it's not their fault and they're always friendly. Tried their fish and chips for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, crispy fish and great tartar. Over all it's what you would expect out of your local minnesota dive bar.“

“Stopped in to get to go meal while at a conference at the hotel next door. Staff were welcoming and accommodating of my request, even let me have a water and tea while waiting. Food was excellent. I live in Saint Paul but will be making town hall a new place to stop with friends!“

“They have some of the best wins, they have remodeled lanes, they do have a nice bar and restaurant and the service is always awesome. parking lot with handicap ♿ entrance, good 🍕 pizzas, good burgers 🍔, a devoted variety of beers 🍻.“
“One of the true hidden gems of the Twin Cities metro, an absolutely fantastic nerd and even kid-friendly space (foosball, arcade machines, darts are all favorites). There are few better places to meet up and play a game - personally, not being a sports person, I love the lack of TVs, nothing to sap your attention or make you feel captive to random commercials. I go there regularly to play TTRPGs. Great beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic seltzers, you can BYOF (Mashawi grill up the road is delicious). The beers aren't the usual 6 IPAs and 5 sours, there's a nice mix of British and German styles (including wheat beers, which are weirdly hard to find).
There are absolutely a million play spaces in different nooks and crannies in the building, you can always find a quiet place to play even if there's music, etc. The owner hosts tons of events, nerdy and otherwise. I only wish I could drink more beer and go more often.“

“Nice place to hang out, and the beer mac and cheese is good, very filling; tatertots are *crispy*, would absolutely recommend. The person who cooked it up for me in the kitchen was *very* enthusiastic and friendly! The bartenders were pretty quiet for my taste but very attentive. Not my top bar, but would be *very happy* to stop by here again. Good THC drink selection.“

“When I was in college I would occasionally frequent the blue door on campus. When my friend and I visited town recently we went to the longfellow location as the university location was closed that day. This was just as great and honestly was probably a bit quieter too. Their Blucy's are what you go for!“

“Lovely little spot to hang out. Beautiful inside and the staff is friendly. They also have a little patio area in the alley. The space as a whole was clean.
I tried the guava cooler mocktail and it was delicious.
Great space for music too. The stage and sound system are set up really great.“

“Stopped in at the world famous Stub n Herbs for lunch with my brother. No wait on a Friday afternoon for a table at lunch. Nicole our bartender did a great job and she makes a good ol fashioned. Cool college bar with pool table and dart boards. Good mushroom Swiss burger and good sweet potatoe fries“

“Love the new space. Digital signage said burgers were $3 on Wednesdays. They were $4. Still tasty and a great deal, but update your sign. I sat for 10 minutes and watched the server take a picture of people at a table and chat with her friends. Never came near my high top table. I finally went to the bartender (very nice) who took my drink and food order. Server swung by 10 minutes later (20 minutes after I sat down). Told her I ordered from the bartender. She never stopped by after that. I was there for 45 minutes, saw her interact with her tables twice. Service was pretty scarce. 2 or 3 staff sitting in a booth. If the bartender hadn't been awesome, I would have left. Burger and onion rings were good.“

“Blarney Pub & Grill is a lively Irish-themed bar located in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota, making it a popular spot for students and anyone looking for a fun, casual atmosphere. The menu features classic pub fare like wings, burgers, fish and chips, and Irish nachos, along with a solid drink selection. The Blarney Burger and appetizer sampler are customer favorites, and happy hour deals on drinks and starters add great value
Why not five stars? Reviews mention occasional slow service and inconsistent food quality, with some dishes feeling underwhelming. The bathrooms could use better upkeep, and the atmosphere can get very loud and crowded during peak hours
verall, Blarney Pub & Grill is a great choice for affordable drinks, hearty pub food, and a lively social scene. If you’re in Dinkytown and want a classic college bar experience with Irish flair, this spot delivers.“
