Rook my mother out for her birthday her per her request. The waitress was amazing. Spicy strawberry margarita was good but not spicy. Salsa and guacamole were good. Carnitas tacos were okay, could have been more flavorful. The rice ans beans were cold when they got to the table.

The food is attempting to be a nut upscale take on Mexican and succeeding mostly. I wish there were a non sweet rice option. My wife liked the sweet rice but I did not say all. Overall I'd go back if seeing a movie at the icon but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Bland, bland, bland. I’m not sure they even have any spices in the kitchen.

Overall fun atmosphere and decent food. We went for happy hour. Beware happy hours is only in the bar/patio area! Do NOT dine in the restaurant side.(Our friend chose this place for the fun happy hour selections but did not know that this was not included on the restaurant/non-bar side. We mentioned that the website's menu did not say this and wanted to let them know in case others made this mistake. The GM replied with "there is a huge sign at the front" and that Rojo has been open for 13 years doing this since the beginning. After that experience, we will definitely be going to Yardhouse in Westend instead. They have happy hour M-F throughout the whole restaurant with more variety and better quality items....Rojo's was fine but tasted like a high priced Chili's.)If you are looking for another place outside Westend, our group liked Hola Arepa or Chelas. For a drink and meal, we paid around $35 at Rojo but would have been better spent at another spot. Our mistake but a good learning experience!
