This review is for the cafe- haven't had a chance to actually make it to the restaurant. Love this area because it has so many fun places to eat (plus Marvel Bar) but the parking situation isn't ideal. Recommend carpooling or something if you don't wanna pay for metered parking. So as far as the interior, I think there are a lot of ideal seating options (especially the patio for when the weather is nice) and I really like the wood/glass counter where you order- very hip these days. However, the tiling in the main area reminds me too much of a bathroom and I could really do without, but hey I'm not an expert on interior design. Y'all best part though are their fresh to death pastries; literally melt in your mouth, lick up all the crumbs on your plate. I'm partial to croissants but they have a myriad of great options so fun to try out new things. As far as coffee goes, apparently they host a new roaster every few months which is exciting and kind of a clever way to try out a bunch of brews. I like that they have some creative specialty drinks, especially the warm ones that will warm you up on those cool MN days. Apparently they also have some key brunch and lunch options which I still have yet to check out but you know I'm always down to go back for more (probs gonna be the pastries again though to be honest...)

Obsessed with the inside of this place. It is beautiful, clean, calm and inviting. Paul our bartender was one of the best I have had in a while! They accommodate any GF needs, great mocktail menu and amazing food selections. I would highly recommend for a date night!

I hosted a dinner for 10 here, in their "Afghan Room" upstairs. The server was terrific, polite and friendly and catered to our every need. The food - every single course - was absolutely delicious. In fact, every guest at the table commented on how delicious the food was! And the run up to the event, working with their event coordinator, was smooth/seamless. Everything went off without a hitch, absolute perfection. I'd recommend the Bachelor Farmer to anyone looking for a terrific meal in Minneapolis.

The Bachelor Farmer is an upscale small plate style restaurant. It is perfect for a date or to catch up with a friend. I wouldn't recommend the Bachelor Farmer for large parties just because the space is rather small with few big tables. A reservation is recommended, but I stopped in at 7:45 PM on a Friday night and we had no problem getting a table for 2. The pork meatballs are a must if they are still on the menu when you make it there! I also enjoyed the popover as a quick appetizer to curb your hunger while you browse the rest of the menu.

I have mixed feelings regarding this restaurant. My husband and I frequented a second time for Valentine's Day. I love this venue as it is relatively dim lighting and looks like the perfect place for a romantic date. As far as drinks go, the menu is pretty limited and pricey. They only carry 3 types of bourbon, and a glass of wine costs as much as a cocktail. We ordered the grooming board appetizer which left much to be desired. I would definitely go for the goat cheese toast over this one! For entrees, we ordered the market fish which was a rainbow trout and was fantastic! The outside was crispy and the flavor was superb. The second item we ordered was the new york strip. This was a cheap piece of meat... and it was $80. It was so chewy that we could not even finish it, I have paid much less for much higher quality meat, so this was very disheartening. Overall, probably will not frequent again.

What a wonderful place! Sophisticated and intriguing flavor profiles. I thoroughly enjoyed the warm popovers, sunchoke soup, and pork. Portions left us satisfied as well. The service was warm and welcoming, and the space felt humble in the best possible way. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner!

This is as chic and modern as it gets in MSP! This spot can be great for a date night or a fun night with friends , the ambience and venue is quite versatile . The seating is casual but the vibe is a bit dressy , the island bar to the left is an interesting spot for socializing with funk-art plastered all over whereas the restaurant area on the right is a bit more serious still bubbly enough ! I was told there is a 20 min wait to get a table so I dropped my name in the wait list and we proceeded to the bar . we ordered a couple of cocktails. They have a great collection of spirits and the bartender seemed very educated about the bourbons . I didn't realize that it had already been 35 min and me and my buddy were about to finish up our drinks , the hostess wasn't even looking for us . I went up to her booth and she wasn't around , and after about 5 min of standing there she shows up and it was clear she had forgotten to look for me and find me a table. Lucky for her though that it was 9.00 pm and the place was beginning to wind down, long story short we got a spot . We ordered two entrees as we didn't have enough patience left for appetizers . The staff who took our orders was great, she was polite and very patient with our questions about their menu. She brought us our drinks rather swiftly and stopped by frequently enough to make up for the wait . Her service sort of made us not regret our decision to be here . I would have given this place a 5 but then it would be unfair to the other really worthy spots in town that go the extra mile in terms of service .

Pretty pricey, and the portion sizes are small. The food was ok, I liked the dessert best. The staff are nice and friendly, but it's not my cup of tea.

Everytime I go to the Bachelor Farmer, I am blown away! The food is some of the best I've had anywhere, the service is attentive and the space is charming. Makes me want to drum up excuses to go to Minnie!!

The perfect date night. Started out with extra friendly staff making sure we were comfortable while waiting for our reservations. Shortly after we were greeted, got a bottle of wine for the table and looked over the menu. The toast with pork fat was to die for. Following that for our entree, my husband got the meatballs and I got the chicken special for that day. Both very delightful, I left wanting to try it all. To top it off the service is outstanding and threw in a few extras such as some cheese puffs and ending dinner with some ginger ice cream. Will definitely be coming back!

A nod to the Scandinavian heritage of the city, The Bachelor Farmer was a great way to kick start my week at the city.

Excellent food - we had the walleye and the pork. Excellent service! The ginger cookies that were brought out at the end of the meal were delicious and hit the spot!

When it came time to celebrate my parents 60th anniversary, I knew exactly the place to book. When I called and asked for a quieter table because my father wears hearing aids and is hard of hearing ~ the staff knew the perfect table to reserve for us. When my sister flew in from CA wanting to surprise our parents, the staff was great at helping keep the secret and tucking my sister away in the corner - and yes, they were surprised! Also, we have dined here a number of times and always had a good experience and good food, the wine selection has been outstanding. And the atmosphere is so comfortable and welcoming. My parents get easily intimidated at 'fine dining' establishments, but not here - they had the loveliest time. Thank you BF! Keep on being you!

Really enjoyed this farm to table restaurant. They had nice twists on classics and everything tasted very fresh. I tried candied beats for the first time. Not a fan of them, but happy to say I tried!
