If you eat there you ll probably seat where Prince used to seat hundreds times ! I am french and used to eat sometimes with Prince at the same table and having nice conversation with him. (inviting me at his table because I am french and wa ted to have news from Paris) This place was a salad bar in the mid 80's. Prince used to park his long convertible just in front of the door 2 wheels on the sidewalk.. which was prohibited. He was often asked to move his car from there by the Police dept. and Prince was sometimes reluctant to stop eating his salad to park his car elsewhere. It was very funny to see how he played with the cops each time....ending up giving up..sometimes "helped" by the cops. So funny how he could play the stubborn way with them. Nice place.

World famous chili is not hyperbole. Same is true for the service!

I'll be completely honest. There is much better pub food in Minneapolis within walking distance from here. There isn't more consistent though and I doubt that there is more familiar Minnesota Pub food. You will be happy here.Hell I am happy here.Stop and eat. Pre-Game, Post-Game.Carbs pre-concert.Safe sports viewing. You could lift The Loon up and place it in any town in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota and it would fit perfectly. That's the best compliment I can give.

This is really a 3. 5 star review. I have been going to this restaurant since 1991ish. This last trip the service was terrible, the waitress was told a few times that I had to be somewhere within 30 minutes and that I needed the tab so I could pay and get to my appointment. The waitress could not be less interested nor attentive. I would normally not even tip such terrible service but was taught 2 wrongs do not make a right so tipped a terrible waitress. The menu is a bit overpriced in my opinion however I have not had a lot to compare it to until this last visit. I am now going to go to a different place for a while until that bad taste is out of my mouth. Other than the bad waitress and paying more for the food than it's value the venue is comfortable and location is great

Yesterday my friends and I went to this bar, the security guard was super kind to us, but the blonde waitress was totally rude and rude, I asked twice if there were cocktails there as she hadn't given us any menu, she made me repeat 5 times and said she didn't understand in a rude tone, my friends and I asked if they were still serving food and she told us to read the menu, right after that she asked me if we were there to just order uber or if we were going to order something , I felt offended, when we went to order our drinks the waitress was rude to my friend, he called her and she ignored him, instead of letting him order his drink she just brought him water, we sat there and at no point did she came to check on us, at all times he was ignorant to us, I always like to give good tips to my waiters, I always give 25% out of appreciation, but this time I gave 0, very racist towards Latin people, I will never return to this establishment again .

Stopped here for lunch during a shopping trip downtown St Paul. There were just three of us and it took quite awhile to just get waters. We each ordered a sandwich and one order was placed incorrectly. I had the soup of the day-shrimp and corn chowder. It should have been called spicy soup as it had my mouth burning!! I also had the BLT which had rubbery bacon and soggy fried green tomatoes. Al three meals were mediocre at best. Disappointing.

Food was fine but way over priced for essentially just bar food. I paid over $30 for 5 chicken strips, some fries, and buffalo wings with celery. Definitely not worth it. The hostess was nice and it's not a bad place, but I wouldn't ever choose to go here again unless I desperately had to. Even then, there are plenty of better places near by. Don't waste your money.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Some tables are on the main level, but I'm not sure how comfortable they would be in a wheelchair. Stairs leading up to the front entrance, no ramps in sight. Narrow doors. The bathroom is down many many stairs.

Great food. Parking is tight, but it opens at noon on game days. And close to Target field.

excellent dinner night here, a burger with many, many fries and a pink lemonade, enough to kill your hunger ?, the only thing was that there were a lot of people and therefore a lot of noise! the place is comfortable :)
