About Phil's Tara Hideaway

Phil's Tara Hideaway offers a unique dining experience in a historical setting that surpasses expectations. The diverse menu includes options like a gyro sandwich, Tara steak with creamy gorgonzola, and hazelnut crusted walleye. The food is delicious and expertly prepared, with standout dishes like the gyro and the steak with add-ons. The Greek gyro is particularly enjoyable, served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes that many find unexpectedly tasty. The food is grilled to perfection, and the portions are generous. The service is exceptional, with attentive and personable staff who enhance the dining experience. While the restaurant can be busy and cramped, especially during peak times, the quality of the food and service makes it well worth the visit. Why have we waited so long to come back here?! Food and service were impeccable. If you are craving some awesome Greek food and a cozy environment, Phil’s Tara Hideaway is the spot. We will be back very soon!
9 of us dined at Phil's Tara Hideaway Sunday for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Honestly, it was the best meal we have had out since after the lockdown. The menu is varied enough for everyone, the flavors were so fresh, (pesto chicken penne to die for!) even the 4-year-old cleaned his plate! Our waitress was awesome, and I had just plain forgotten how lovely food made with care can be. Thank you, guys, so much for a great time!
I enjoyed their Greek gyro with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. They load up their gyros and wrap them in wax paper with a large toothpick to hold it all together when serving. The potatoes were an unexpected standout, so darn tasty. Enjoy with one of their many beverages, and you've got a great combination.

Their appetizers are a little different than what you might find elsewhere, lots of Mediterranean theming throughout their menu, but definitely worth a try, too.
