We stopped at Cafe Steam this afternoon for the first time. I had the absolute best iced chai tea latte I’ve ever had. Nothing compares. The hot tea was spot on as well. Definitely a must-stop at place in a Rochester. Excellent, friendly service as well.
I insist that my daughter take me there when I visit her at Mayo Clinic. It’s always wonderful. She’s a med student and loves studying there.
came here because it was the only coffee shop open after 7pm, and i’m so glad we stopped in. steam coffee is super cute and actually a pretty good-sized coffee shop. the decor is really homey and cozy, which made it a great place to stop and hang out for a bit.

Café Steam offers a true coffee shop experience with a fantastic atmosphere, perfect for client meetings, remote work, reading, or studying. The food is fresh and delicious, with a great selection of coffee/espresso drinks that are smooth, bold, and consistent. The sugar-free syrup options are A+. The staff are friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming, showing kindness and intentionality. The diverse menu and late hours are appreciated, and the delicious coffee and scones are highly recommended. During peak hours seating is limited, but there is plenty of seating available. Parking is a bit of a bear, so park in the back or take a short walk through downtown Rochester. The coffee is very unique and tastes great. It is always an incredibly cheery spot to stop in, and happy to bring guests any time. Highly recommend.
