This review is so that Noah can get a little insight into why his restaurant failed. I first met Noah when he had a small space in a convenience store in Northeast minneapolis. The food was incredible. The meats were perfectly cooked. The sides were delicious. Noah hired a young man around 20 years old to run his small location in Northeast Minneapolis and I ordered ribs while the young man was serving there. The ribs were so smothered in salty rub it was absolutely disgusting. Anyone who knows or likes good food would know better than to serve something like that. I didn't tell Noah about this incident but I did tell the young man that if you serve food like that you were going to ruin Noah and his business. Fast forward a year or two later, and Noah opened up his restaurant in St paul. I ordered from that restaurant three times. The first time was stunning. Just stunning brisket. But oddly, the potato salad side was Bland and honestly disgusting. No worries, not a usual occurrence with the food I had ordered in the past. The sides are usually good. The next time I ordered, the brisket was dry and horrible. I was blown away because I had never had anything served to me from Noah's Restaurants in the past. So I called them and they were very very nice and they offered a refund but I also noticed the side I order which I think was beans, was also just really Bland and awful. Mind you, Noah is a fantastically talented chef so this was strike number two and I was really perplexed. The third time I ordered that was the last time I would ever order from there, the brisket was just okay, it wasn't anything special like I had had in the past. And I ordered the hush puppies for the side. Everything started to become crystal clear on this last order. The hush puppies came in small handsome to go box and when I opened them up, there were exactly two hush puppies in this box. That couldn't possibly be right. So let me sum up what happened to Noah and hopefully it won't happen to you if you're thinking of opening a restaurant. No one made a classic mistake that restaurant was made, he put the hands of his restaurant into kids who make 15 to $20 an hour. No food was tasted, no food was checked, everything was put in the trust of this young man who had just a couple years earlier served me ribs with so much dry rub on it that I could have had a heart attack from all the sodium. That young man destroyed Noah's restaurant. Why do I say that? Because that was the young man that served me all three meals at his new restaurant. Noah actually never caught that this young man has no business in a kitchen. And Noah allowed this young man to destroy his career. Don't make the same mistake Noah did by becoming a restaurant tour and leaving the kitchen and not tasting recipes and not making sure there was quality control coming out of his restaurant.

Tried for the first time and so glad I did! Everything I tried was delicious. The proprietor offered up plenty of background on how they cook, source their menu items. As someone that has eaten BBQ all over the country I am a fan of this place. Parking can be a challenge ( very busy corner) but so worth it.

Stopped by for a quick dinner last night. Those hush puppies were the boss! Loved the mix of flavors and that would be my go-to starter if I lived in town. The pulled pork shoulder was good, but the sauces really brought it home. The Tongue Twister cocktail was my kind of spicy. I was expecting more meat for the price, but these days, prices are all over the map when it comes to value. (The TT drink was the first and last time I'll have a sub-$10 cocktail in the US all year!!) The toast with the "Pile O' Meat" was pretty weak, but that just saved me a few calories on the bottom line. I wish you could order drinks and food at the same spot, but it wasn't crowded on my visit so I got to wait for my food to cook while standing at the bar ordering a cocktail. Both the drink and the food were ready at the same time!

Food delicious. Service great and quick, ambiance great. — I will be back. (Also price I thought was extremely reasonable and affordable, especially based on food qty!)First, food, everything was well seasoned (salt people) the wings are full big wings, crispy and the Tennessee hot sauce was great kick and flavor. Brisquet was well seasoned and smoky. All the sides were good! They had a wide range of sauces for those of us that like some spice :). But I ate the brisquet without sauce, it had enough flavor on its own. (I will try the pulled smoked turkey next time) - also “sea shells” style noodles Mac and cheese people - DON’T SLEEP ON IT.Second, service - so warm, Tyson and Noah were fantastic. Tyson took the time to welcome us, explain the food to us, how it was made, great warm authentic interaction. And fast service, we didn’t wait long to order or get our food.Third, location is very nice, we sat patio, lots of fun vines, bricks, lights, not too loud - I will be back next summer to watch the sun go down. Inside, I will be back on a snowy wintery day to have a local beer (I saw pryes and indeed on tap) and some good warm food.

Went here for lunch with my sister. Had a pulled pork sandwich with their vodka chile barbecue sauce, which applied quite well to the pork. Also had some nice and creamy pimento mac n cheese on the side. My sister is a vegetarian, but they have some pretty decent vegetarian side options, including the previously mentioned mac, their cole slaw, and their hush puppies, which were unexpectedly sweet but delicious nonetheless. Overall, a great meal, and some of the best I've had outside of the south.

Absolutely incredible service. Delicious barbecue. Best hush puppies in the entire world. Everything is fresh and fantastic. 10/10 would recommend and visit again.

Was in the area and decided to try this place out. I had their Platters-Piles O' Meats. The pull pork was dry and bland(no seasoning) and turkey was the same. The arugula potato salad was disappointing but the hush-puppies was decent. If you want bbq and is in the area I would recommend Firebox Deli instead. Just down the street on Snelling.

The pulled pork and brisket were dolled if you add sauce to any of this dishes, they will taste better yet still not the best. The wings are worth to try, great balance between sweet and savory. The Cole slaw and macaroni and cheese lacked flavor. I might come back only for the wings.

To be fair I did come in 10 minutes before close but this is my experience.Friendly staff and clean place. Brisket was lukewarm but excellent anyways. I’m sure it’s better earlier in the day. Mac and cheese was dry, cold, and didn’t have any flavor by the way.I still ate it all and left no crumbs? In the same breath I will say that the baked beans my boyfriend got were the best I’ve tried in my life. Pulled pork was good and turkey was good! Overall good value for what you get for sure. Meat portions are generous

Excellent service and some good eats! My favs were the hush puppies, they had a great crust and flavor, and my mojito. Would be a 5/5 experience except the jackfruit was one note and some of the sauces were underwhelming; I had to debate my companion if the vodka chile bbq was ketchup. It is great of them as a barbecue joint to offer a vegetarian option - just want a bit more from it.

Took my dad here for Father's Day lunch. BBQ is a tradition of ours.Had wings, wagu brisket, and pulled pork shoulder, along with potato salad and slaw. Everything was delicious and service came with a welcoming smile! There is even Jackalope on the menu for the non-meat eaters.I recommend trying all the sauces, good luck picking a favorite! Will be back again!

Have I been transported to TX???? Amazing brisket and ribs. Excellent slaw and beans as well!

Pulled pork was good. The sauce tasted like Catalina salad dressing. The Cole slaw was severely under dressed. Pretty much chunks of cabbage.

Ordered 4 racks for my daughter's birthday party. Completely overcooked and no flavor, they claim to have been dry-rubbed but no seasoning at all! . I could have made them better on my own grill. Very disappointing, was looking for some good dry rub ribs. Definitely not the place to get them.
