My neighbors and I welcomed the return of this restaurant, after they were closed due to Covid. As I write this I know that restaurants are struggling with staffing, supply issues, and circumstances beyond their control. That being said, customers should still be put first and their word not doubted when they have a concern/complaint about the warmth and condition of their food. I sent back my food & asked for a replacement. By the time the new order arrived, my friends had finished eating. I asked for some sort of concession on the bill... Not by any means asking for it to be taken off the bill completely. I was offered 15% off. I was told that they would not be charging me for my first meal... The one that was cold! No member of management came by to apologize. There are plenty of new restaurants in the University area. My friends decided after this last experience of poor service at Hodges Bend, to check out other places.

Top notch. Amazing experimental food and drinks with a twist. Great layout and service too. On a clear day you can sit on the patio. Easy to get to and from by light rail makes this a total winner. The cubicles are a good way to gather in the Covid era. The bottled chandeliers are a great touch to the decor. Go! Enjoy!

Ana is an absolutely amazing bartender! She surprised me with one of the best egg-white sours I've ever had -- off menu, still no idea what all was in it. So good to see people in their element like this who know what they're doing...Excellent service all around and great ambiance. Hopefully Ana is tending when you go!!

I'd lost the location of this place but knew it existed and needed to find it. it's a beautifully appointed, quaint bar with wonderful food. I won't forget where it is again. They have a very attentive staff that went above and beyond, the food and the drinks were outstanding. I highly suggest the summer salad with strawberries and my husband had a hamburger cooked med. rare, just like he wanted it...He loved it! Can't wait to visit again. OH and I LOVE The yellow booths and the bar back..... they really make this a place not to be missed on your list for great resturants / bars in Minneapolis. We will be back!

This is our first time to Hodges Bend since COVID and the food was over-the-top good! We started with the Butcher Board and it was one of the best charcuterie we have had. Honestly, it could have been the meal in itself. Hubby had a burger and it was hot, juicy and tasty along with crispy fries to boot. I had the Striped Bass and it was perfect. Seating on the patio was fun watching the green line. Hodges Bend just moved way up on our list. Thank you for your incredible work!

Great place. Could use some additional external signage to indicate the really terrific restaurant inside. Staff is young and seems a little new at the job but everyone who helped us was eager to find answers to our weird questions and always looked to keep us happy. The food was surprising and very good, especially the charcuterie plate and the grits entree, which blew us all away. Adding delicious cocktails all around, I'd rate this a real winner.

It’s not every day that you find a cocktail bar like Hodges Bend. This place is refined and classy, but also super friendly and relaxed. Oh, and the drinks are great.I had a delayed flight leaving Minneapolis, and needed to find someplace near the university to grab a bite and a drink after a really long work day. It was also blazing hot outside. As soon as I entered I was offered a glass of water at my table.After wrapping up some lingering work tasks, I ordered a Prosperity and a Tobacco Old Fashioned. Both were very well-made. I finished the Prosperity too fast, but I managed to get a photo of the Old Fashioned - the little pink skull was interesting haha.After my drinks I got the watermelon salad and a burger, also pictured. Both were great.After a long work day, Hodges was a great place to unwind. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
Burgers r great. Breakfast burrito is even better... They know their cocktails to a t and cheap tap beers to boot.

A very nice place for some good Alcohol. The food is also very delicious. I loved the Ambiance and they also have Patio seating.The staff are very nice and gentle. It is located in a very nice place right on University Avenue off of 280.The only suggestion would be to please add some more vegetarian options. The menu is short and nice, but please try to accommodate options for people with various lifestyles. The place is definitely on the pricey side.Overall a nice place for friends and dates.

One of the best eating and drinking experiences I've had in the twin cities. The employees are friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely phenomenal. And the cocktails are some of the best I've had in my life. The bartending staff is so knowledgeable and put so much work into their craft it really shows in every drink they make.

Excellent food and cocktails served in a great location that is both stylish and casual. It’s also really easy to get to, right next to the Westgate light rail station. I was very impressed with the sea bass and the bread pudding!
