Surly Brewing Co. is an impressive, spacious brewery with a great layout and a large bar area. The tap room is big with high ceilings, and there are several seating areas both indoor and outside, including long tables and an outdoor area with fire pits. The beer is still great, with lots of selections and a nice portfolio of beers, though many are higher ABV. The food has mixed reviews. The Pimento Chicken sandwich is delicious, and the brisket queso dip is phenomenal. The pretzel, hog frites, and pierogies are favorites, and a Brat is a good choice. However, some say the food has gone downhill, with the fish tacos having small pieces of fish and the chicken sandwich being tasteless. Food is overpriced with not a lot of selections, and entrees don’t come with chips or fries. Service is quick, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Tours are offered but take time. Parking is generally easy. It is a must stop for any beer fans, with a variety of food options including pizza and a kids menu.
