J. Selby's offers pleasantly surprising vegan dishes like the crunchwrap and fried chicken sandwich. The staff is friendly, but the prices are on the pricier side. Some found the vegan cheese not to their liking, but overall, the food was excellent. The cheese fries were a hit, with the vegan cheese tasting surprisingly good. The restaurant serves a variety of favorite items, including the caesar salad, Mel’s wrap, gyro, chicken sandwich, and cauliflower wings, all of which are highly recommended. The brunch options are also popular. Guests have enjoyed the chili, which was fantastic, and the Community Bowl, though some felt the fried tofu could be prepared in a more flavorful way. The animal fries are especially praised, and the service is noted as great. The menu looks delicious, making visitors want to try all the sandwiches. The wraps are warm, crisp, light, and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is casual, not fancy but not fast food, and the place reminded some visitors of Cava. The bathrooms are very clean, and customers can order via QR code menus with built-in pay systems, making the process easy. Food is served fairly quickly, and staff are professional and accommodating when mistakes happen. Every dish, including the Ceylon Iced Black Tea, is incredible, and there are baked goods like cookies, brownies, and peanut butter Rice Krispies available for after lunch. Ordering at the counter and receiving your food with a number makes splitting checks easy and gives time to decide on your order. A QR code is also available at the table for ordering from your phone. Overall, J. Selby's is a highly recommended spot even for non-vegans in the Twin Cities.
