QR codes for ordering defeat the purpose of dining out. The "Bartender" dropped off our drinks and then delivered our food a few minutes later. Couldn't get anyone's attention for ketchup. Walking taco was lukewarm at best, burger was terrible, and the pickle fries were so salty you could barely eat them. We never got asked if we needed anything or how our food was. Might as well go to a fast food restaurant.

What I think

Sloppy joe was dry,and tasteless. School lunch sloppy Joes are 100 better,so I would pass. Grandma's swedish meatballs had zero flavor or seasonings. Mush meal. Pass on the "food" here.

This is the first place I have been where you can dine and swing at the same time. I Love to swing. When I swang I felt like a monkey in The Amazon, and it brought me back to the days where I would cosplay as a monkey in my early 30s. The atmosphere is absolutely glorious and the food is just so comforting and heavenly. It felt like plaid wallpaper was giving me a homely hug. I love myself a good Carl Chicken Sammie on a fridged winter day with a Peanut Butter Cup for a sweet treat. Words cannot even begin to describe how delighted I was with my Smorgies experience. Everyone go stumble through my new hangout spot.

When it comes to dining experiences, Smorgie's sets the bar so high that even 5 stars doesn't capture the full excellence. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by an atmosphere of comfort with all of the non-traditional seating. Whoever designed this place deserves a raise because wow - the bold patterns all play out beautifully and makes the place feel original. Not only is this place absolutely beautiful, the service is absolutely impeccable. You can tell that these staff are not only knowledgeable about the menu but truly passionate about making sure each guest gets the top experience . What truly elevates Smorgie's to such a high status though is the food. Every dish is crafted sublimely and I could not get enough of every bite. Furthermore, I even had to order seconds because of how delicious my meal was. In a world where 5 stars is the highest achievement, Smorgie's shows us that there is really no limit to greatness. Once you leave you will already want to be back.

Came in during a fairly busy time but sat down and ordered immediately. Our drinks came within a few minutes, but over an hour later our food had not arrived. Because you order via QR code at the tables, there are very few waiters or food runners to flag down. We finally got the attention of someone, who came back to tell us they had no record of our food tab, although we got charged fully (and you had to tip prior). Very disappointed we wasted over an hour waiting and have yet to be refunded for our food, not to mention we they kept our 20% tip on the full $50 order when we only ended up with our 2 drinks.

Smorgies is an absolute gem in the realm of dining experiences. From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and culinary delight. The decor is tastefully curated, striking a perfect balance between cozy and elegant. But it's the food that truly steals the show. Five stars just doesn’t do it justice.

This is an interesting concept and good addition to downtown St Paul. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. There is not a lot of tables and booths to actually sit at but the standing tables are OK also. The food was average at best, but great for the price. 1st day I went I had a chicken sandwich. Small processed patty with a decent sauce and toppings. The next day I had the tater tot hotdish. It took a few bites but it grew on me. It was very tasty. Unfortunately the portion size did not fill me up.Service and Staff:The staff was good if you could get their attention. I was there during the state wrestling tournament and they were not prepared. 1 bartender and 1 perso. To run drinks. No busses or actual servers. When the crowd died down and the Staff felt like they could breathe they were great.Ordering is a little funky with the qr code thing. I couldn't figure it out so just went to the bar to order.Prices were good and drink selection was good even though they didn't have my favorite cider apple shine from Invictus.I will try this place again this weekend during the state hockey tournament and again when there is not an event at the xcel center.I would have probably given this place a 5 if it wasn't under staffed for the weekend and the food was a little better. It was not the staff workings fault they didn't have proper staff. All in all worth a stop for affordable food and drinks.

Was at Omnifest at the Science Museum and saw this place nearby, in walking distance and checked it out. We were greeted by a staff member at the door. He asked if we have been here yet and we had not. He kindly explained the process of how they do things. We needed to show our ids (in case we do order alcoholic drinks) and then get stamped. We then would sit down at a table and scan the QR code on our phone to bring up the menu and order right there from our phone app. You can order as a whole table or individually. Drinks and food was brought out quickly and service was friendly. I had the Smash burger which was good. I'm not such a tator tot person, but that was tasty. I was craving onion rings which was tasty too. My friend ordered the pickle fries and that was surprisingly good too.

The decor is beautiful. I did like the self order and tab done from your phone. It made it easier to order and get your order. My colleagues and I work near here & stopped in for lunch. It’s so cute & classy inside.

My husband and I are staying at the Courtyard connected to Smorgie’s and decided to give it a try.The restaurant looks like it offers full service - it doesn’t. You have to order via QR code or go up to the bar to order food and drinks. The ambiance is really cool, so we decided to give it a chance. There was one bartender working, it was very slow, and she was very nice. As we walked in she explained how we ordered and was very nice and friendly. We ordered the Carls Chicken Sandwich and the Smashburger. Originally I was shocked at how inexpensive the prices were - but after receiving our food I realized why. While the sandwich was decent, my husband’s burger was covered in grease. To further confirm my suspicions that the food was microwaved, we received ranch in a pre-packaged container. We also never received, or were asked, for water or additional beverages. The food came out fast, it curbed our appetite - but I don’t particularly want to spend that much money for microwaved food. This restaurant was great after a long day of travel, especially because we didn’t went to Uber around MSP. But, I wouldn’t choose this restaurant for a meal in the future.

WELL HELLO... what a cutey place here in the St Paul nooks and crannies of the food scene scatter over by the Xcel. Attached to a hotel that offers valet.. take my car...but bring it back lol! Super awesome to start our dinner date for the evening! We hit this up since it was posted by an awesome foodie person on instagram. When you walk in the place is all set up with cute decor and cool seating. You order from a QR code with your table number... if there is more than one of you order as a group because the app is kinda dumb and you cant change that after you start... so we had to head to the bar to get ordered. We ordered an appetizer Fried pickles.. cause why not... and then decided on doing a Smorgies Smash and a Big Dilly Chicken Sandwich one with fries and one with onion rings. Split in half and half so we could try each others out and neither disappointed! Was a bummer though cause allllll came out at one time and with having a tiny tummy was a bummer.. i like a staggering of food coming out! The gentleman that was clearing tables was super attentive as we finished stuff and asked questions! Again stupid app as we wanted to order dessert it wasnt offered in the app so up to the bar we headed again .. lucky for us the gentleman cleaning around us grabbed it while i was hanging out waiting. The basement bars... F yes amazing! Keep doing what you all are doing, i know there are some kinks to still get out!
