Xieng Khouang Restaurant & Banquet offers a diverse menu of Lao and Southeast Asian cuisine in St. Paul. The restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers praising the friendly service and affordable prices, while others have had concerns about the service and certain menu items.
Many reviewers have enjoyed the pork pho, which is described as "pretty good," and the $5 pho/boat noodle special on Wednesdays. The pineapple fried rice, however, has received some criticism for its inclusion of raisins and pecans, which some customers felt did not complement the dish.
The atmosphere of the restaurant has been described as having a "great" and "fun" vibe, particularly for events and gatherings. The bar and cocktails have also received positive feedback, though some customers would like to see a wider selection of beers.
Overall, Xieng Khouang Restaurant & Banquet seems to offer a mix of positive and negative experiences. While the food and service have been hit or miss for some, the restaurant appears to be a popular spot for Lao and Southeast Asian cuisine in the St. Paul area, with customers noting their enjoyment of dishes like the kapoon and laab.
