“I ordered a kraut sandwich with a GF bun as the menu said was offered. The waitress was exceptional!! She said the buns were homemade and the owner makes a trip to get them 1-2 a week.the gf buns were tasty as well as light and fluffy!! I have been a celiac for the past 10 yrs and this sandwich was the most subperb I’ve had!! The whole sandwich was delish-!! The sauces were homemade as well! She offered me a side salad with the homemade dressing since the fryer was not a dedicated fryer which was totally fine. They was totally accommodating and very friendly! I would return again when in this area! A very high five to the waitress and the cook!!!!
Dietary restrictions: A gluten free and dedicated fryers they uderstood this and was able to accommodate for me. My Kraut burger was excellent !!!“
“This place is an excellent upscale restaurant tucked away in Currie MN just a mile from Lake Shetek State Park. The hamburger, ribs, NY strip and salmon were all delicious! The menu had gluten free and vegan dishes indicated which we appreciated. We liked it so much we went back a second time.“

“Great food. The fries are awesome! Friendly service, but slow table service even when few customers are there. The food was done quickly and it was terrific. Coleslaw was very good. At first, didn't care for the fine texture, but it was delicious... and I'm picky about my slaw!
There are some things travelers need to know... mainly, seat yourself, which they don't tell you until you've stood there several minutes while multiple employees (kids) walk past, looking at you and wondering why you are there! Second, you don't get the check at the table; which is also not apparent unless you've been there before, obviously. You have to go to the counter after you're done eating... I guess? Idk, it wasn't very clear but we had finished eating for almost half an hour! We have no problem with either of these practices, but it needs to be made known because it's not the usual!... and that's ok. So it was a bit uncomfortable, but I think we'd go back if traveling thru Slayton again.“
