Some of our party were very late (got lost), but the server and host both were very accommodating. It's been years since we've been there from out-of-state, but thought both the food and event were great. Only small criticism, get a band that plays mostly German songs - don't need to hear oldies from this country at German event (e.g. Neil Diamond?).”

Everything was perfectly cooked, hot, juicy, crispy, and delicious. Our server was Kendall and she was well informed on the specials and the menu, she was polite and friendly and remembered our orders and asked the right questions. All around impressive.”

“Fun dive bar. The bartender was very nice and helpful. He obviously is very familiar with his regulars. For us that have never visited his bar before, he was sure to let us know up front this is a cash only establishment. It is nice to know so we do. It look like fools scrambling for a atm at the last minute.The beer selection is just right. They had plenty of offerings in several spectrums of beer. The liquor offerings are very plentiful for this level of bar.We will be back again and I hope to enjoy the Harbor Bar more often.”

Sitting at the sushi bar is a fun and entertaining experience. Great sushi chefs and great servers.”

A petty money grab, in my opinion, but at least it's upfront. Nothing is said about online prices, and since cash payment is not an option, one would assume the upcharge is included, but it is not. It's only $1, but it's the idea of sneaking in a bs charge that is annoying. Just be upfront and honest about pricing and stop adding in additional charges and price your menu accordingly.”

The are a number of 15 minute parking spots right out front and a handicapped parking space a bit further down, but with wheelchair access to the sidewalk there.”

The flavors were perfect… it was fresh tasting with a great balance of hot and sour and a lot of tofu; it was just delightful. So delightful in fact that I got the Thai basil chicken and took it home for dinner (-: Just finished having that for supper and it also was awesome! Service was prompt and very polite, the restaurant was immaculately clean and the menu was broad. I asked another couple who were there having Pho, and they said it was always fantastic, so I will be going back regularly. There’s nothing more warming and comforting than a big bowl of pho on a cold winter day!”

The wait time was not terribly long. (Although past times I’ve been here, the wait has been long. The drive through typically takes a while😅) There was plenty of seating options available and the place was kept fairly clean! My dining experience at Culver’s was top notch! I will definitely be coming back to this Culver’s on a regular basis!I totally recommend coming here! There was also a lot of parking!”

I owned a cafe for 15 years, I taught them to say “Hello, someone will be with you shortly.” I witnessed 5 employees, one working the counter others working on other tasks, 2 of them walked right in front of me, forced themselves to not look at me. A quick Hello goes so far in the industry. Food was great, atmosphere great!”

“The Dock was the perfect place to host our Groom’s Dinner the night before our wedding! We had never been there, but knew it had an indoor space that could hold 50 people for our December wedding. The space was beautiful, the food was really good, and the servers were quick, efficient, and helpful. We will definitely be back!”

“When my mom brought me to the Freight House I was pleasantly surprised! With the great view and delicious food, this is an amazing place to eat.

The Freight House has a wonderful variety of food to eat! They offer street tacos,mushroom swiss burgers, walleye sandwiches, chicken chop salads, and more. You can get a giant pretzel for an appetizer, you can also get cheese curds, pulled chicken nachos, and artichoke dip! The Freight House also has a wide selection of drinks, they have lemonades, slushies, and drinks inside of pineapples!
My absolute favorite thing to get at the Freight House is the walleye sandwich! The walleye is cooked perfectly, and it tastes so fresh. Their homemade tartar sauce brings the perfect amount of tanginess to my dish. The long warm bun is soft, and doesn’t fall apart with every bite. They added a lemon on the side, and I chose to squeeze it over my sandwich, and my lemonade. The lemon brings the sandwich to a whole new level of tastyness! The walleye is always cooked to perfection,you can taste freshness in all of the ingredients, The freight really does have the best walleye sandwich!
The Freight House’s history dates back to the 1800s. It all started when Stillwater became a trade center for miners, trappers, and people who build railroads. Eventually, people decided that Stillwater needed a freight depot. So the people started to build the depot. It had two foot thick limestone walls, 30 foot tall exterior walls, and flooring was put in place. Finally, the strong trusses were installed, along with a solid slate roof. The construction was finally finished in 1883. The depot had a telephone office, and received about 75 railcars each day. After a few years of that Curtis feed, and coal farm service operated at the “freight House.” In 1970 the agency shut down, and the building was sold. Then, in 1979 the historical significance of the building was recognized, and it became the first building to be put on the national registry of historic places. It still stands today as the original building, as the freight House restaurant!
What I love about The Freight House is the diversity of the menu, the amazing tasting food,the rich history of the building, and the outdoor seating. The atmosphere of the building Is awesome. I really enjoy the outdoor seating, because I get to stare out at the St. Croix River. All of the workers are really kind, and the chefs bring out the food fast. I think that the taste, the freshness, atmosphere,the staff, and the rich history make the Freight House one of the best restaurants.”
