“Amazing coffee shop. Big windows from floor to ceiling that let in a ton of natural light, and views of the surrounding cedar forest (with trails that you can snowshoe and bike). A canoe hanging from the ceiling. Several people working on their laptops. Great atmosphere. I got a chai and my girlfriend got a coffee and croissant. All were perfect. Staff were super friendly. This coffee shop shares a roof with a bike shop that sells, rents and repairs bikes, so if you're passionate about bikes, this is the place for you.“

Castle Danger Brewery Brewery • $

“Large brewery, with a huge selection of high quality beers (I like the cream ale), lots of space inside and out for large groups, and some nooks where your family can play board games. I was here in the off season, but you can tell they are set up to service lots of tourists in the summer. There are also some interesting other cool establishments within walking distance. Check this place out if you’re touring the north shore!“

“Good food with a glorious view and attentive service. I love finding these hidden gems on roadtrips! Typical American food that is made well with great presentation. We had a late breakfast and enjoyed our meals - Eggs Benedict and pancakes with chocolate chips. Perfect portion sizes - not too much and not too little. A cup of coffee is $4, my only gripe that's not really a gripe.“

“Were here for an early dinner in a snowstorm on a Tuesday evening - a quiet night. But the service from Cheryl was exceptional and we all enjoyed our food - a walleye dinner, mac and cheese with kielbasa and chicken schnitzel. My sister ordered a side salad and it was lovely - we all kind of wished we'd ordered one too. Only thing was that the server said it was a $4 up charge and she was charged $5. Other than that, everything was great.“
