“In love with this cute little log cabin coffee place! May or may not have gone 3 times in the last 24 hours. 🤭 The first time the kiddos got an iced chai and chocolate frap while I got a hot chocolate with oat milk and almond syrup. Their lemon poppy seed muffins are pure heaven. So much that I ate a big lunch and still had to make a pit stop for another one before we leave town. Truly amazing drinks but even more than that, amazing and sweet employees!! Thank you so much! Will have to stop by tomorrow before we head back home.”

“Insula has become a favorite place for lunch in Ely. The menu is varied, and the lunch soup and sandwich is just the right size. I really like the Bahn Mi sandwich, probably my favorite. The atmosphere is quiet, which is very nice for conversation. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place for lunch.”

“I’ve been wanting to try your Thai food for ages, and tonight we picked some up from the park. It was so darned good, we’re definitely coming back to try other dishes. We had the spring rolls with the mint, spring onion, shrimp and such a tasty peanut sauce. I loved the mint and spring onion - such pops of flavor. Also had the Pad Thai and I’ve had that before at restaurants and haven’t been impressed. Yours was tasty and light and made me love the dish again. Thanks Roger and Pa’an - delicious dinner.”

“I don’t know how this place isn’t more popular?! This is one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at in a LONG time!! And there was no one there on a Friday night? The view on the deck overlooking the lake was beautiful, the hand carved wood tables and chairs were such a vibe, amazing almost 3/4lb burgers with amazing toppings. Loved!! They had no problem with us being gluten free and asked for no bun. Prices for burgers were on par, but the prices of drinks were pretty spendy (they probably could have the prices of the drinks on the menu)”

“We got breakfast subs with our 5 small children. The staff was SO KIND… They were incredibly efficient and helped us by cutting the sandwiches down for the kids and carrying them to the table. The woman and young man working were DELIGHTFUL. We will be back!

“When I first saw the name of this place I was somewhat resolved not to go there. I hated that name. I've been there a few times now, and I have to say their food is some of the best. I normally have the spinach and strawberry salad, but the last time I ordered their smashburger. AMAZINGLY GOOD! I didn't enjoy the din from the TV sets all over the place, making conversation hard. I highly recommend the food and service here.”

“An awesome place to get a beer and burger while in Ely. I met the owner Brian while I was there. I was there long enough to have a couple different bartenders, and they were both extremely nice. I'll be back in the spring or summer to go canoeing, and I hope that I'll have time to stop back in.”

“Only had a chance to stick my head in this place briefly but this looks like a great little dive bar with everything you'd need. (except for food... which is what we were looking for at that particular moment). I'll for sure be back to saddle up to the bar and get a good feel for the place.”
