Be ready for country cooking. Fine buffet with a show if you buy feed for the catfish. Great for kids and grandparents. A lovely playground and romantic bridge to an island that's lit up. Always loved the welcoming atmosphere. The fillets can be a bit gamey and not a ton is made from scratch but at this cost that doesn't surprise and all the great sides and experience make up for any shortcomings. Will always recommend, not fine dining, but fantastic fun.
The decor is basic cafe. The staff is friendly. The food is good. Service on a busy night can make the experience less awesome. No rolls. No slaw even though was to come with the sandwich. I got plenty of fries though. Good local place to eat and not over pricey.

I've been coming here since the 80s, and I don't even live in Missouri. If I'll drive for 3 hours to get there, then that should tell you that it's worth the trip. Great folks running the show, and the simple buffet is outstanding. I love going there when frog legs are the special. The fried chicken and catfish are always awesome.
