Ernie's Cafe & Steak House Reviews
Great Breakfast, nice menu. I love old fashioned dinners. Staff was personable and efficient💯🤠🧐🙂
dirty. water tastes strange. wait. loud. if you want biscuits and gravy must come before mid-morning. toast large very lightly buttered- will bring more. bacon chewy- think had been setting for a while- combining with another couple's order. French toast avg taste has cinnamon. eggs over easy good.
I have loved Ernie’s for as long as I can remember. I worked there for many years until Tom bought the place. From the jump he ruined the place. But now he has gone too far…firing a 29 year veteran employee with no notice and no explanation. Never again. Way to destroy a Columbia institution.

Ernie's Cafe & Steak House offers delicious food in a homey atmosphere. The eggs and hash browns are a favorite, with many customers noting that the eggs are cooked perfectly. The pork chop is not too salty, and the #8 ham steak and #12 sampler are also popular choices. Many first-time visitors appreciate the quick seating, even on busy Sunday mornings. The staff is attentive, providing constant coffee refills, and the service remains quick, with friendly servers taking orders promptly.
Customers praise the fabulous diner food, including the mimosas, French toast, and bacon, with the #1 on a bun being a recommended alternative when biscuits and gravy are unavailable. Although the place can be a bit crowded and loud, this adds to the fun atmosphere and makes for enjoyable conversations. Some have mentioned that the Hamburger can be a tad dry, but overall, it is a great place to relax, eat breakfast, and enjoy good food and service. Parking may be a little difficult, but it is just a short walk from nearby garages, and most agree it is worth the visit.
